US Version: Life on Mars

Having been introduced to the wonderful sleep destroyer that was the two seasons of LoM, I was somewhat dismayed, or rather, completely reduced to a vomitty feeling when i saw this , the trailer for the us version. call it US bashing if you will, but it just looks to be shit. The first shots of him in '72 look chromakeyed...

I'm now one step closer to renouncing my citizenship.

I'd heard rumours about this, I actually thought it could work and be quite good but unless that is a spectacularly shitty and misleading trailer then it looks like they have fucked it right up.

Lead characters all wrong, he has no personality. Life on Mars' strong point was always its comedy moments but the American Sam Tyler looks less funny than child rape.

Pointless remake, American Tv Companies clearly don't think much of their audience, they must think that an English show is too 'high brow' and intellectual for the average American to understand. That can't be true, if they'd bought the rights to the original product, screened it on a major network and gave it the same publicity they are going to give this remake, they'd get the same number of viewers. They just wouldn't have to run around filming a bunch of plastic Californi-A-holes prancing around looking chiseled and pretty but not acting for shit.
