This is a bit easier to find if you search for "cj-21-dvdr"

Unrelated previews have been left in and there are countless more of them in the special features section! Video is claimed to be untouched. I'm not doubting CJs but there are some bright flashes around the 35 minute mark in the Chinatown sequence. I've not seen the original so can't say if they were on that too. Rip appears to be of R1 origin. Spanish, French and commentary track have all been left in. Also three featurettes (there are no deleted scenes in this version). Everything works as it should and I haven't been able to find any menu issues as yet.

Movie is reworking of a old story that's been done many, many times before. It's not done here especially well or badly. With the notable exception of Kevin Spacey the characters are totally unconvincing. The ending borrows from countless other movies and you can see it coming a mile-off.

IMG file plays fine on standalone but locks up in VLC and Media Player Classic?

10/10/7

I'm not going to call CuriousJotos liars or say anything about where they got their source but I will say that the video bitrate is only 2000 kbps. Untouched eh?

I was less than thrilled with the video encoding quality myself but who is to say the original isn't also like that? CJs have always been honest in the past so I have no reason to doubt them. It's not unusual these days to put both widescreen and full-screen versions on the same retail disc along with three 5.1 audio tracks. The "10" I gave is for the quality of the rip as per a certain moderator's guidelines and assumes no re-encoding by CJs. If this was a re-encode it would rate something like a 7 or an 8.

V: 8 - IDC if it's untouched, if it really is, then the producers did a poor job of cleaning it up

A: 9

M: 9 - Nice ending

Agreed with all above, this is an awful studio transcode if it is 'actually' untouched.

Felt the movie was dragged out a little, Kevin Spacey's talents are wasted in this - it could've been so much better!

still, its not that bad & well worth a watch..

V - 7 (def not worthy of a 10, even if they do claim 'untouched')
A - 9
M - 7

NFO says DVD5 source, so they probably are telling the truth about it being untouched, but the original was already compressed.
