No files showing

I have a couple of mini dvd from my camcorder. I lost the lead off the camcorder and want to view the files on the dvds. Only problem is the video doesn't show up when I put it into my laptop. Any idea what to do to solve the problem?
Thanks

It a sony haven't got it with me at the moment so don't know the model number. What software do you use with your sony? I have well since lost any cd's that came with it. I'm using vista SP1

I didn't finalise the dvd so that could be the problem is there handy way around this. Failing that I'll pick the camcorder up tomorrow.

Cheers Lads
