Laptop problems

Riight so techy folk my laptop wont display anything after the XP splash screen, however if i hook another monitor up to it, remote access it or boot in safe mode then i can still see everything. I have googled the shit out of this problem and i havent found a solution. SO can anyone shed any light on this problem?

Also while trying to diagnose this problem i have done all the windows updates, updated my graphics card drivers, taken the bitch apart to play with the on of switch which consequently left me with 4 keys on my keyboard that no longer work! Does anyone know how to fix that problem as well while im at it

cheers

Rubbery

What did you do to break it?

Sometimes if you set too high a refresh rate the video card can't display anything so just goes blank.

When that happened to me before I think I fixed the problem in safe mode.

It wasnt the refresh rate. It was a windows update i think. . . . it was a while ago. Nothin out of the ordinary. I tried system restore and that didnt work etc.

Subsequently i have bricked the fucker by pissing round with the display settings in the BIOS. The hdd doesnt seem to be making much noise and now i get nothin on screen when i power up or connect to another monitor.

I have tried resetting the BIOS on the motherboard and that did nothing either.

I think its time to get my data off the hdd and invest in a new one!
