He's quite mad you know.

Need a bit more information on your setup. Presumably you have a wireless router and the two laptops connect to this wireless router to get to the Internet. If so, you're almost there as they'll be picking up an IP address from the router in the same subnet which means you simply need to open up file sharing on XP and Vista and choose the folders you want to share.

Jigglyjunk

MAC filters arent really all that effective if someone wants into your network and onto your system. One could easily find the allowable MAC, spoof it and then connect.

Just enable WPA AES and you should be fine.

Admin?

Have you tried a different channel on the router? You might be getting interference from a neighbour.

sick young bastard

Thats about normal for wireless G networks as it is 23 mbit. got to figure you are going to loose alot in overhead of being wireless, plus it also depends on hard drive speed too.

I have same issue, but not 700mb usually around 60 gig i have to put on the vista c drive transferred from a external usb 2 hdd which takes about 12 mins or so then shove it onto the 2nd raid which takes about 40 mins give or take, good thing is i have 126mb left of a 1tb raid 1 drive (2x 500gig drives)

Anyone got 2x 1tb drives they wanna swap for 2x 500 gig drives (seagate barracuda with 4 yrs left on warranty stickers serial to prove) will leave what's on the hdd's for you to erase all high def films lol
