All the great comedy movies,

Top secret, Caddyshack, Airplane, Blazing saddles, etc.

So what happened?

is it down to the writers, producers?

I can't even remember the last new comedy film that even made me smile.

Clerks 1, 2
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
40 year old virgin (reminds me of people on here :rolleyes )
Hot Fuzz
Shadow of the Vampire
Ghost World
Rush Hour series
Friday (just the original)
Juno (not laugh out loud but really funny and great)
Shrek 1, 2 (forget about the 3rd)
Napoleon Dynamite
Ghost Town
Borat
Dan in real life (Not slapstick but funny, and a good story, I was able to connect with it on a personal level)
Burn after reading (dark comedy but freaking hilarious)

Here's some great comedies in the past years, I think a few date back to the 90's but that's it.

were the funniest movies of the last year.


Those Masterpieces you mentioned davidbrent are great old time movies because you grew up with them.


But i could be wrong because i remember growing up watching Saturday night live and laughing the whole time. Now SNL sucks really bad.
Its really sad they just cancelled Mad TV. that show made up for SNL sucking

it takes time for pieces of art to be recognized for what they really are is what i think
