The One, The Only

JJ Abrams Lost the Dark Tower?

Aparently, JJ Abrams is wanting to bring Steven King's Dark Tower Series to the screen. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

But if anyone can do it, it just might be J.J. Abrams, who acquired the rights to the series in 2007 after meeting with Stephen King (allegedly a big a Lost fan). The project would allegedly be a Harry Potter-esque seven picture deal, with seven books to cover, but that might be a bit too much for studios to handle. I mean, if Chronicles of Narnia is barely crawling to three movies, I can’t see the (should be) rated-R King series making it past the second feature, even with J.J. behind it. Not that it wouldn’t make an excellent seven film series, but I doubt America’s intelligence and patience to go see the films, making them profitable enough to warrant the continued sequels.
