Why can't these groups either release it right, or don't release at all?
First, I'd like to say Hello to everyone on the vcdquality boards. Let me assure you all that I am not some shmuck who just looks at a f$cking jpeg or 3 minute sample, and then rants about how crappy the quality is.
No, folks, I plan on being one of the FEW valuable members of this forum, that rates a release based on it's ENTIRETY, and review it fairly. And with that out of the way, let me discuss UTI's release of "Alex and Emma"
First off, I'd like to ask all of these release groups to do one thing:
WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE THE ENTIRE THING BEFORE RELEASING IT, AND CHECK YOUR WORK BEFORE YOU RELEASE THE DAMN THINGS.
I've gotten a few flicks that have had the audio completely out of sync, or have been missing the last few minutes (some missing 10 minutes or more). And it's really a shame with this one, because it's overall very good quality.
VIDEO - Only a few glitches in it here and there. Otherwise fairly sharp, and bright enough to see everything without having to strain.
SOUND - Perfectly acceptable, especially for this type of movie. Everything is perfectly audible, no annoying background noise, and no dropouts.
FILM - The movie is actually pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. This is obviously a "date flick", but it's funny enough to make it bearable. Chalk that up to Rob Reiner....
