ive noticed that carlsberg has gone from 4% down to 3.8%
stella has gone from 5.2% to 5%
anyone know why this is happening?

Beer is taxed more or less according to its alcohol content. Reducing the amount of alcohol reduces the amount of duty payable.

Carlsberg's always been 3.8 (on draught anyway)and English brewed Stella has always been 5.0 .

king cobra seems to be the beer of choice in the south bronx ghetto....this is my new work area and these mother fuckers are a blast after a few cans of it...i didnt know it was 8....must taste like shit....what kind is it...(pilsner/ale/lager????)

Heh I didn't think they'd brew it as strong in the US market as here.. and I'm right. 5.9% for you guys Over here, all the American light lagers are still 4-5% (Bud Light, Coors etc) which I don't think is the case your side?

I've not seen King Cobra in a can over here, just 750ml bottles (big ass things, about 30oz)

Hurlimann used to be over 6% I believe but that's now dropped to 4.8% (on tap). I thought it was a tax thing too which ntscuser seems to have confirmed.

I can't stand weaker lagers as they just seem to taste like water to me. It's got to be around the 5% mark for it to taste OK.

I've looked it up, the skank juice they call King Cobra in the states has no relation to ours. Ours is an Indian beer now brewed over here.



Funky ass bottle, I've not seen this version but the one I get is similar. It costs about £4/$7.

Leffe for me all day long,comes in all different strengths leffe blue is 9 proof leffe red is 8.5 leffe blond is 6.6 funny thing is they all taste near on the same.I come across shelfish pickers now and again, I thinks its compulsory for them to be able to drink four cans of tennants super/carlsberg special brew at 6.00 in the morning.Came across one in that heatwave year before last with a large bottle of highland spring,i said whats with the water he said it ain't its white lightning,says it all about them.

Weird, I thought I was the only degenerate that liked Leffe cos none of my mates do... Have you folks tried Duvel as well? It's somewhat similar and blows your head off (8.5%) - a local pub here that specialises in imported/weird ales even refuses to serve the damned stuff in pints, you have to have it in faggoty half-pint glasses cos they've had so many people get shitfaced by accident on it
