Regional Terms

Out of pure curiosity and with no hints or influence... What do you think a "Cob" is?

Your mission is to define the word - "Cob"

No Googling, what does that word "Cob" mean to YOU?

First thing that springs to mind is a wheaten cob.

Rubbery

A bap or bread roll
Get a cob on (be in a bad mood)
Corn on the cob (sweetcorn)

::EDIT::
Also I think it might be a young swan or something.

My old neighbour used to say that his wife had a 'Cob On', if she was being moody.

Bitter, miserable twat.

Cobs:

I remember when I was young also hearing it used as a verb meaning "to throw", e.g. "cob us that ball, will yer?"

Admin?

There's so many words for a fucking bap/cob/teacake/breadcake/scuffler/bun/roll's that I get anxious when I go into a bakery (not cold sweats like HoldDaSalad as he paws the donuts, just regular anxiety)

Interesting.

I asked the question because I was in Wakefield the other day, what a shit hole that was, and I went into a Breakfasty looking shop and asked for a bacon cob. The woman behind the counter looked at me all gone out and asked me what the bloody 'ell a bacon cob is.

Well, it's a cob with some bacon in it. She had never heard of a cob before so I started thinking that maybe Cob, as in bap/roll/batch was a regional term. Seems I was merely talking to a fucking retard.

If you wanted something that looked like this.

What would you ask for?

I wasn't in the mood for fucking, I had to be in Leeds for 6am then went through Wakefield to get to Ackworth then to Doncaster then Rotherham and Lincoln.

Cheap bastard cunts at work didn't deem it necessary to put me up in a hotel and gave me a hire car and 2 days to visit all the sites instead. Did it all in 1 long day then had a day off . Thrashed the nuts off the brand new Vectra hire car out of frustration too.

Doncaster was a shit hole as well, I had to keep running red lights so my wheels wouldn't get nicked .
