I'm not defending Michael Moore, any idiot knows theres a problem with america and all the killings - not just with guns. He made a feeble attempt at describing why its that way. Perhaps you should read anything by Chomsky. As far as ignorance is bliss - lol. Thats why most people in the rest of the world hates Americans. Because we are so ignorant to not only the problems of the world but even in this country. Moore did a pretty good job 15 yrs ago with a expose on Flint Mi. However, he did nothing that any idiot did not know about Columbine. I am not right wing or left wing, but it does not surprise me that u got that wrong too as i was really insulting Moore too. However, i know that the real problem in America is that exact position on ignorance being bliss. I hope u dont vote until u get some knowledge to have an understanding of how things work. Did u even know that the federal reserve is not a Gov't entity. One must be able to identify the problem correctly to find a fix for it - both take knowledge. As far as the bible bit, if u r a fag i guess u dont believe in it. Either way perhaps once u have children then u may be able to understand wtf about life. As far as this particular movie, it underlines what is missing in America, morales. Unless u are as unresponsible as the ppl behind enron, & worldcom, or think that seducing children is cool then you only let that problem manifest itself. Just imagine, if everyone had those types of values depicted in this movie, would we have the corporate greed that exists in those failed companies? Would our last president wanted a defination of "is" lol. We as Americans who vote responsibily should have the knowledge to do so. Therefore having the understanding to do so. But, if u choose to be another ignorant American and choose to do nothing - then you should have no say in anything at all. Have u ever heard of the living dead that a fellow named Solsynitziin wrote about. This is where i will depart from my usual liberal agenda - if u choose to be a lazy good for nothing, i dont want to pay for any state welfare programs for losers. If they cant work then oh well, like i usually say- the cemetary is full of ppl that thought they were unreplaceable lol. All the people of this country owe u is a reasonable cemetary plot. Get used to it, dont get mad that theres not going to be a coffee cup for u, get a job, get some knowledge - perhaps then u can contirbute something to mankind. All im saying is that i dont want to pay for your ignorance. All I know is that i started with nothing and made out pretty well, i did it by being ignorant, stupid, not caring, and all the bad values. <-----this is a brain twister, if u can handle it. your ignorance speaks for itself, and has already been called out by EnemyGlitch. read back through your rant again, i'm sure you'll see nothing wrong with it. however, your spelling and grammar undermines your entire argument against ignorance seeing as how you aren't 'knowledgeable' enough to utilize the english language correctly. you then proceed to make openly ignorant remarks regarding a person's sexuality because they don't believe a book written by man a few thousand years ago, and assume that anyone on welfare is ignorant and trying to get you to pay for them. i hope you never fall of your high horse as you might find it a long drop to the unemployment line.

i would agree that morals are important in life, but morals are usually defined by society, and the ignorant masses make up 'society'. 50 years ago it was moral to make your wife stay home and do the housework, all the while preventing her from voting....not to mention how moral it was 200 years ago to keep black individuals as slaves. this is a movie (cheap Dead Poet's Society rip-off) spewed out by Hollywood, as was LOTR2 and The Hot Chick. Any notions you have concerning the true intentions of the director/writer/cast are misplaced, it was all about money. That's society today, and the morals are inline with that. Enron, Worldcom, et al, those all have to do with the underlying moral that every American holds dear to their heart, greed.

Perhaps we all need to read each others post more carefully. I personally dont care what religion u have. I only meant that a godless man is a hollow man. There is a supreme being, that is why Mendel, Einstein, and many other pioneers of science capitulated at one point or another of their lives because they realized that life was far too complicated to have been meerly evolution. I will enter this basic argument, if we evolved from monkeys why are there still monkeys? As far as not caring for the country that I love - I care enough to know that a change is needed. I am knowledgable enough to know that something is rotton in Denmark. We are I believe 53rd or so in the world in terms of education. We have slipped to somewhere in the teens in terms of standard of living. We started to slip during the S&L debacle of the late 70's. The middle class has all but disappeared. These events were caused by greed. Greed in America is one of the root causes of all of the problems. The inability to think compassionately about our fellow man - we have the tendancy to throw our fellow man under the bus so that we can further our agenda to a "better life". Why was it not so long ago that we did not have so many brutal killings? Have we really evolved, i personally think we have gone backwards to the dark ages in terms of real understanding. Knowledge is the only thing that cannot be stolen from you. If you ever get the chance, read the following books - "Shadows of Power" by Perloff, "The Creature from Jeckyll Island", anything by Chomsky (he is rated as one of the 10 greatest intellectuals of all time), "Tragedy & Hope" by Quigley. The last one has to be read and sifted through for the truth that lies in parts of it. Clinton endorsed it because it is part of the origional deception. Shadows was a best seller in NY for a few years. I do not believe that more is better and that todays value sturctures are defective, with regard to the greed deal. This will be the downfall of our country unless it is reversed. Now, those responsible for corp. greed will be going to jail for their greed. (i guess its not so cool after all, imagine if u were one of the ppl. that lost their lifes savings.) If the me generation had existed in the 60's, which i feel was the last time we had a knowledgable masses, we probably would have lost a great many more of the creme de la creme of America in Nam. Would we have been there with the knowledge and proper values in an informed society? As far as the slavery thing, are u aware that we have about 1/3 of the black race in and out of prison at any given time. Make no mistake, they are still slaves. We are all slaves as long as this greed thing rules our society. In fact, we have more ppl in prison than Stalin had in the purge. Would we be in the mess that we are in if we had the knowledge and the values to make proper decisions in the middle east? If we had the knowledge to realize that selling arms to both sides is not going to really be profitable in the long run. Foreign affairs diasters are basically caused by the lack of knowledge and the wrong value sturctures (greed). Money will not buy true happiness or salvation. However, compassion and understanding will go much farther. These values are coming back into fashion as a great deal of society is starting to become aware of the foolishness of our folly. The stock market crash did not have to occur if greed was kept in check. We do not have to slump to being mass murders, killers, greedy pigs, or fags if we control the animal within us all with the proper values (knowledge). I have personally been predicting this debacle in the middle east for 20 years. I cannot believe that the ppl that count could not see it coming. I guess greed got in the way with the special interests. The bottom line is the values of Americas greed is defective. As soon as we pay for the folly of those values and change - the better the world will be. But, it will never happen unless the masses become knowlegable enough to care to make a difference in our system. I'm not following the rest of the herd off the cliff of greed & stupidity. Finally, with regard to your education, perhaps you spent too much and did not listen carefully enough. I spent 9 years in academia to uncover the truth for myself, not for greed. But, I had special reasons to do so. The purpose of these posts is just to present another picture to what i believe is true enlightenment. Also, to show the rest of the ppl from other countries that visit this forum that not all americans are the greedy stupid pigs that they think we are. That some of us do realize and care about the problems. I will never forget one of the dealer shows that i went to. One of the big corp. Japanese officers said to me - "I cant believe that you care and know the things u do. I thought all americans were selfish and only cared about their toys". I was flabbergasted at his remark, I could say nothing to take up for my fellow man. It was later that night that I realized why americans are universally hated in the entire world. This thread is only proving that he was right. Are we too old of dogs to learn new tricks is the only question?
