Hell yeah. The first one, to my 15-year-old eyes, was an enjoyable little action/adventure flick based on a video game series that was still fun at the time. In the fullness of time I've come to see a number of gaping flaws in it, but it's still an enjoyable romp today, especially if I MST3K it with some friends.
The second one, however, descended into the depths of a hell so horrible that Christopher Lambert -- I repeat, CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT -- refused to return as Rayden; given his B-movie past I'm sure it had nothing to do with the money. Last I heard, Robin Shou and Talisa Soto were still wandering aimlessly in the 8th Circle of Hell with lead MK medallions dangling from their necks, thanks largely to their appearance in that piece of I Can't Believe It's Not Straight-to-Video. Basically, the movie was a continuous series of obscure 1-scene cameos strung together with CGI shots and horrid dialog. Sub-Zero! Sub-Zero, for cryin' out loud, was reduced to a cameo! I'm not even bringing up Motaro, or the Animalities, other than to say that I've seen more believable 3D rendering in StarFox (the SNES version).
