Video quality is pretty decent, would've looked more clear if it were SVCD. It goes blk & white in the scene where she fights 100 men, but snaps out when she blinks. I guess this was intentional.

The audio is very nice, loud, clear and crisp. Some dialogue gets bleeped out. I first thought it was because of bad words, but she used bad words throughout the movie with no bleep.

The movie itself in my opinion was really corny and stupid. It had a few cool moments, most notably, when she fought Vivica Fox. I thought the martial arts action was just a joke. The camera wouldn't focus clearly on the movement because the actors can't pull the moves off. I also didn't like how they completely ripped off the Jet Li style he uses in his HK films with the rope or belt. It was just plain boring and goofy. I didn't dig it, but one man's garbage is another man's treasure.

All in all, decent release in terms of A/V.

Quentin did that on purpose. He wanted Uma's character to be known only as The Bride. So whenever anybody refers to her by her actual name it's bleeped out.

weird.

I've been watching a few minutes here and there. I don't want to see anymore until I catch it at the theater tomorrow, but I can't help myself. I have no self-control!!!

Admin?

Same copy as the P2P version, just not such a bastard to find anymore

Pretty much unaltered from the FTM version except it's been split into two cd's. Quality is nice, maybe a bit blurry but def good enough to watch. Audio (as mentioed in the other thread) is very nice.

I'll stick with my original score from the FTM version: 6/8/Dunno

... Now I have to try and NOT watch this before I see it at the cinema

::edit

I couldn't resist, this movie is FUCKING AMAZING. Apparently the big B&W scene is supposed to be B&W though I'm not convinced. I'm seeing this bitch in the cinema, if the final edit is better than the WP I may have to tear my eyes out after seeing it so my eyes aren't polluted with lesser movies in years to come.

Revised score: 7/8/10

the bad frame rate kinda screwed up the action scenes... its watchable but i'd give the video a 6.
sound is clear but you can tell its not what the complete movie will sound like... or maybe it will... tarantino can be pretty damn strange.
movie is very bloody and very weird.

Great movie! Was too tempted to watch it before watching this at the theatre. Finally I gave up and took a sneak-peek! Can't wait to watch it in the big screen.

Nice release. Except for the delay while changing reels, everything was great. But that is negligible considering the fact t you get to watch it before going to the movies.

I did give it 7.5/8/9.

I think I'm the only one who liked this movie. Release was awesome, video is at least a 7, a bit grainy but wicked quality for a WP. Audio seemed a bit quiet, but undistorted.

This film is so exceptionally good that I am compelled to invent a term to articulate the feeling I felt when I experienced it, right now...."FANASPLENDASTIC" This film is so "FANASPLENDASTIC" that I can hardly move.

As for the OPiuM package itself:

- The picture is grainy (but not uncharacteristically for a WP)
- Colour is pretty good
- The sound has a bit of the ol' digital clipping howl, but it's fairly unobtrusive

RATING: 7.3/7.8/9.1

* I did, for whatever reason, experience some playback issues - a mild bit of stuttering and a/v desync. I'm not sure why this happened, as my player doesn't usually perform badly and the burn was completed at 4x's with Fireburner (with few background processes running and the modem disconnected). Someone was complaining that the MPEG encoding was done with the frame-rate set below 24fps. I'm not sure if this would cause these playback problems or not, but in any case, the film was still quite watchable.

My Two and 3/4 bitz

While it is unfortunate that the Weinstein posse decided to go for the cash-grab and spread the story out over two films, this should not take away from the brilliance of what is offered in Vol 1.

There is so much good, pure, un-self-conscious entertainment in this film. Quentin has made a film out of films that he loves and has made his film with that same love. It's fun, it's attractively and creatively shot and above all, it is fresh.

...You won't see another film with as much, "fuck it, I just wanna see some crazy, cool, shit up on the screen and I don't give a fat rat's ass 'bout how much it costs, who's gonna see it, or if anyone will like it but me" balls that Tarrantino has shown in making this flick.

Mad propz to Q for lighting a M-80 under the fat-arses of H-Wood and the so-called dissaffected, Vico-dazed, 'Indy film' scene which he helped create...Q shows how it's done: an independent film is independent for reasons other than financing - it is its' originality & unique perspective, KILL BILL V1 has both in spades.

This film begs to be seen in the theatre...so I'm going, I hope the rest of you do too.

Just wonderin, but the frame rate seems off. It appears to be slow motion from what i scanned in cd2.. Like its motion but with to few frames.. and the fact that this group re-encoded it to 29.97 made no fucking difference. That would just add empty frames and make it more choppy. Wonder if but a few people have seen the damn film or parts and not just the fucking sample. Anyone else want to comment on the frame issue? Is it my vision or does it truly appear slow in some parts like video just ISNT right... As a result , people voting over a 7 should be shot. But im not a mod, and even they cant get rid of the morons ( they just come back under a new name).

Jerk-O-Rama

whoever is voting high for this movie must only have seen screenshots. this jerkfest is a pain in the ass to watch, i stopped after only 5 minutes. whoever encoded it must have been on some bad drugs, and as it apears, most voters here must to. Props for speed, but wtf. This release is worthless. 2/7/?

Pic 7,Sound 7,film 1!

What an overated pile of shite!
The film switches to black and white in heavy gore scenes so that it could get an R rating! The MPAA don`t like to see the colour of blood! The Japanese print will be in full colour.

Sound

Sound was left side only. And what the hell is up with the cartoon parts. Is this part of Tarantino's plan? Ending was a nice lead out for Vol 2. For the idiots who think that it is retarded maybe need to look up what volumes are.

Video - 7 blurred during fight scenes...
Audio - 6 - left side
Flix - 9
