Which makes me says why did thestudio author like this and not just make it seamless branched like every other DVD that does this.

Nice info Props for that much. Someone just need to release theater version now. Hint Hint ALLiANCE...

Hehe... Good call The studio is pretty stupid for having the flipper instead of the branching. That is so 1990's

DVD18, now that's rare if true

Still, in that case some grp should release theatrical version as well.

yes, video freak is right. I found a review on this DVD stating it's a DVD14.

Meaning the DC Version is on a DVD9 side and the Theatrical Version is a DVD5 side. Well in that case it's easy for some group to pre the DVD5 side too. Maybe as internal or something.

Thumbs down

I've waited and waited to see this movie until the DVD came out, but now it's only the directors cut, and not the theatrical cut. Why would a group rip the Directors Cut and not label it as such. Should be The.Butterfly.Effect.Directors.Cut.NTSC.DVDR-ALLiANCE or something to that effect.

From the .nfo, the video wasn't touched, which is hard to believe being as the director's cut has most of the extras, making it a dvd9 ... this being said, with most dvd9's, they don't put in that many extras, the video vobs are normally over 4.5 gigs, they are closer to like 6gigs, which would mean a small CCE downsample. add the menu back in and sync the subs. Not sure which set of rules these guys are going by, but the rips are supposed to keep all subtitles that the Original DVD has, then they can cut DTS, if they want, to keep the 5.1 and 2.0/Directors Commentary. They did the audio right, but they should have maybe done a "COMPLETE" release of this. Like DISC1/DISC2, that would have been spectacular for a movie like this (from what I've read anyway, I've yet to sit down and watch it). That would make all people happy for the most part, for those who want the COMPLETE dvd, for those who wanted to see the Director's Cut, and for those who never (or want to see again) the Theatrical Version.

Just opinions, I hope a group does a COMPLETE release, those are the DVDs that I like to watch

/end rant

In the mind of reality!

yeah pissed me off after watching this and noticed they even changed the ending. I mean nothing wrong with director's cut but don't cut the ending out ..so this is also a director's cut and an alternate ending attached to it. Man I was like what? That didn't happen. But overall the quality is nice. Shitty menu's for such a great movie though.

Excellent movie. Nice to see the DC the alternate ending felt more forced than the Theatrical version because they had to include the fortune teller scene. Overall though

Vid = 9.5
Audio = 9
film = 9.5

The.Butterfly.Effect.THEATRICAL.INTERNAL.NTSC.DVDr-ALLiANCE

I got this, and I must say, I liked the DC version better, but both were fun to watch.

Newbie

Is it just my stand-alone DVD player (Philips 624) or is anyone else getting the director's comment audio track as the default track?

Was mucking about with the disc in my player (Samsung S225) - pressing the menu key during the film fired open a completely NEW menu to the one that came up when the disc was originally inserted - I have to say it is a lot better than the virtually still screen that popped up at the start. Why are there 2? Why is the superior one not default.

This also happened when using PowerDVD on the PC!
