audio bitrate is 224kbit according to the nfo. 5.1 should be 384kbit.

Yes it has a menu, scene select and even a cute little XPD intro screen.

Audio: 10+ (Dolby Digital 5.1, whoever complained should get stuffed...According to this, its 384 Kbps which is good)
Video: 9 (Average of 4.5 Mbps, so says Powerdvd..Video is a bit blurry too, but still great for a dvdr.)
Movie: 10 (Loved it better than the first one)

Just watched the movie.. sorry folks but no way is that 5.1, the speech is coming out of all speakers, no positional sound effects, dont get me wrong it is nice quality sound but dont get excited its not dolby digital, even if it has been encoded as such.

Not too bad a release, But coulda been better. About the same picture quality as Harry Potter 3. Audio is nice & clear & yes, it is stereo, but not full 5.1

If you've got no other release, then this is worth getting to save you having to encode it into dvd yourself.

Meneu is pretty plain, just a jpeg with Play Movie & Scene Selection on it & with background music from the movie itself.

7/7/9

Really enjoyable movie. Looked amazing at the theatre, so go see it there first people! It's definately worth it

Ohh boo. You can always remove it if you really want to. I do like the menu and chapter selection, you really gotta give em credit for doing us all this nice deed for free of charge and putting themselves at risk You and I both know the ones who own the license to this movie are NOT happy about this release and would love nothing more then to catch em.

The audio is dd 5.1, get over it. Thank you again XPD, see you in the next release.

Well, as I just got my hands on this release tonight I can verify that it has a 384kbps DD5.1 AC3 soundtrack. Everyone saying that it is 2channels obviously hasn't taken one look at the release but are rather going by the obvious typo in the nfo. XPD is primarily a SVCD group and left the wrong bitrate in their nfo (224kbps, standard for SVCD). Pic looks pretty good, much better than the VideoCD release (God, how I hate motion blur, that drove me nuts in their release). Overall I say this is the release to get if you have a DVD burner, as I'm a fan of having the whole movie on 1 disc, and the DD5.1 audio is a nice bonus ^_^.

8/9/9

Edit:

After getting home and watching the movie on my 5.1 setup, I must agree with the previous poster who mentioned that the voices come out of all the speakers. It IS a 384kbps DD5.1 track like I previously stated....alas....it appears as if XPD took a stereo source and duplicated the channels to make it 5.1 *tsk tsk*. Oh well.

Edit, again:

Out of pure curiosity, I downloaded Cartel's xvid encode of VideoCD's TS source, which supposed had a 5.1 AC3 track, and let me tell you, the difference is amazing. The AC3 on the xvid encode is worlds cripser and much more dynamic (none of that fluttering in the opening credits and no audio dropouts). If you want the best quality possible, you can do what I did, and thats combine the AC3's from the two Cartel cds and then remux them into the vobs from this release. It sounds absolutely wonderful. Please note that the VideoCD TS didn't begin til the Spider-Man 2 logo and this TC starts at the very beginning and has the Columbia Pictures logo and everything, meaning after you do the remux youre gonna have about 45 seconds of silence until the logo, where the Cartel audio will kick in. Good luck!

Porn Star

It's not my fault that they fucked their nfo up is it? No. And considering i have no interest in this release, i wasn't able to clarify/check to see if it actually was 5.1

Yeah I know, I was just pointing out that the people that were declaring 2 channel sound were getting their info from......well the nfo. Not your fault, just being as clear as possible. ;-)

mayby this will shut everyone up about what it is and what it isnt. its obvious that some here didnt bother to even get the sample, yet they somehow feel they can pull an opinion out of the air and try to tell the people who DO have it, whats up with it.

some people...

I dont post often but i have to say i watched the release and there is DD 5.1 those of you rating off the nfo and flaming based on the nfo should pull your head out of your ass and stop mongering in the forums. XPD put out a quality release its excellent high quality and well worth the DL. This far from retail a release like this is a keeper in and out. Cheers to XPD

Playing it right now in my standalone/DTS/5.1 amp and could'nt agree more with the statement above.

Also, nice little audio dropout when Peter's Uncle talks to him in his dream. I am only skipping around using the menu and found that glitch, hope there are not more. Will watch it tonight all the way through.

Im still not sure if i should get this or not, can anyone who has watched the whole release on a proper 5.1 setup and knows what to listen for, verify this is a proper 5.1 encode and not just stereo to 5.1 which is what any cheap amp can do.

I put the sample on a CDRW and it doesn't sound like it to me, i hear very little seperation between the speakers, more of an ambient sound.

Cheers

My download of this just finished downloading, and i burnt it to DVDR, slipped it in my DVD Player and was amazed of the qaulity, its brilliant, at first i was a little wary about it as the preview clip on my pc didnt look good qaulity, but i took into account that i generally find my movies to look much better on a proper tv and not my monitor. Anyway i was correct as it was awesome qaulity. Only thing is im not convinced that there is 5.1 in this, as i dont have a 5.1 system, but its just the fact that at the start of the movie, on the title screen, the audio does exactly the same thing as on the alliance release, it like freezes for a couple of seconds and then carries on as normal, it also does go a little stuttery in places, but appart from that its great.

10/7/10!!

Hi there. Long term reader 1st time poster.

I've got the release and burnt it with nero from the image. It appears to work perfectly but wont play beyond chapter 7 on the various dvd players that i've tried it on. I dont usually have any problems with burning/watching releases.

I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to why this might be happening and what could be done to reslove it.

Many Thanks

Still nobody can comment on this as havig proper 5.1 sound.

Guess i'll just have to get it then to find out, i want to anyway now, saw this at the cinema last night, amazing film, and i hope this does have good 5.1 as the sound in the cinema was awesome, great panning and brilliant use of the Sub channel.

You could try DVD Decrypter to burn the image as Nero isnt exactly perfect at doing it.

Me and my mate just watched this film on a proper audio system, but it isnt a DTS 5.1, its just dolby pro logic or Dolby Surround system. It was playing in a high pitched background sound all the way through almost, it got a little annoying, but nethermind, brilliant qaulity overall though, just the sound is a little dissapointing in my opinion, but not the worst

I stated way back that there is no way this is 5.1 and that statement still stands, for anyone who is still wondering, yes I have watched the whole thing all the way through on a standalone dvd player hooked up to dolby digital decoder. yes the little light comes on saying it is dolby, yes it says 5.1 384k when u watch it on a software dvd player but NO it is not 5.1 in any form whatsoever.
