Amazing quality video. I often forgot I was watching a Telecine rather than a DVD Rip.
Video was amazing, great colors and wonderful definition. It had a slight wobbling every now and then, but that's to be expected with a Telecine. The only issue I had with it was that in a few places there was a horizontal line across the video, which appeared to be some sort of encoding glitch rather than a flaw in the source. Still, solid 9.5. Too bad the vote system doesn't have that option.
Audio was crisp, vibrant and full. I heard the highest highs and the lowest lows, and the volume was fine. I'd give this a 10 for quality, but...
I'm sure a lot of people haven't noticed this, but the framerate on this movie is wrong, all wrong. This is encoded as a 25fps PAL SVCD; however, it was obvious to me after listening to a few parts in the movie that the framerate hadn't been converted from 23.976fps, only sped up. European theaters do this because they think nobody will notice.
Want proof? The movie is split into three files of lengths 40:13, 40:14 and 28:00, adding up to about 108.5m. IMDB for the film says it has a runtime of 113m. Divide 108.5 by 23.976, multiply it by 25 and you get 113. (and change)
Anyway, I'm surprised nobody in TUN noticed this. It wouldn't have taken much effort to convert it to the proper framerate, probably a few options checked in the encoder settings. Nonetheless, TUN has done an amazing job with this one. Like I said, I often forgot I was watching a Telecine rather than a DVD Rip.
Oh yeah, movie was damn enjoyable. A welcome return of Bruce Willis action movies. Solid 9.
Final result: 9.5/9/9
