Candyman, I would have paid $56.45 for that much gas.

Wife just brought me a receipt today... for $36.30 for 12.696G. That's $2.85 per gallon.

::Edit:: Yes to the L.A. question

Ouch, live in LA? I though it was horrible paying US $2.65/gallon

Yes, but do you do it every day? If so, I feel for you. I've grabbed my receipts this morning (Saturday) and for the past 5 days, I have spent a total of $246.64 for gas. And I still have to fill it up this morning, though at only a little less than half a tank, I'll probably only drop $40 or so. Never have I've spent that much in one week. Hell 2 years ago that would have got me through 2 weeks or more!

pfffffffff

shn's got the right idea. (for what the 1st maybe 2nd time in his life)

in america.. public transit.. unless your in major cities.. is assumed to be the transportation of the poor. aka .. them dangerous black criminal folk!..

kids grow up assuming the only way to live is to have a car.. otherwise your a poor bastard..

the automobile has certainly done its fair share of damage to the american psyche and the american landscape. (and everyone's air)

get a bike!

ps. TERR0R LEVEL YELL0W!!!!!. *imagines kal's large sigh of relief*

the subway in paris is hot and smelly, but it is relatively cheap to use it. i think it was like 4 euro for a day pass when i was there.

it's not always hot and smelly !
the smelly part is mainly because of the people who stink (not only bums!).

The french are very good with déodorant but they just never wash. A french shower is just using a can of lynx to cover the smell

the brandname is Axe™ in France. That's what i use, with the ball thing.
unfortunately, some people perhaps wash but don't use deodorants, which can be painful during summer...

I don't understand why companies have to rename everything in different countries. I still haven't got over having to call opal fruits "Starburst"

...or calling a Marathon a "Snickers" bar. Mind you, we feel quite obliged to call George Bush a complete arse instead of "Mr. President" so I suppose it's only fair.

edit: I'm more than a little drunk at the moment so, if I offended anyone with that statement, meh!

Everyone could just do like me. Bought an 86 Mitsubishi (Dodge) pickup off moms old fogey neighbor (2.0 litre 5speed), rebuilt the engine with new clutch, built a custom Cold Air Intake and straight piped the exhaust. With a 22Gal tank, I fill that bitch up and can ride for almost 3 weeks getting around 35-40 Mpg.

Yeah it looks like a dogs ass and has NO a/c, but takes off like a scalded dog at the redlight and leaves everyone behind. It costs me much less in gas to piss off Durango drivng soccer moms who try to walk all over me.

Thinking about decaling the back window with "Crackerbox POS: 40Mpg" in gangsta script. I got less than a grand total so far in that truck.

Oh yeah, about the adjusted for inflation racket going on, I asked my moms about that. And she said "Fuck that, back in 1980 the gas price thing didn't last going on 2 fucking years."

Think about it.
