Not sure if it was me but i;ve just watched the Asteroids XVID and its got some MIRC style sounds as if its picking up the sound from the pc that wasw beign used to encode it.. only happens a couple of times and scared the hell out of me the first time!
Picture: 8 (it's a little fuzzy, but the colors are excellent!)
Audio: 7 (it's a little low... gotta crank up the volume on this one)
Movie: 8 (almost as good as the original)
if the asteriods release is so great then why are they all whining on in the asteriods thread for this release about crappy chopped up sound and windows nioses through the film plus ??? to me they both seem pretty damn good
after watching the film not sure if its a tc but perfectly watchable anyway audio bit funny in places and seems like 2 different sources film not too bad
Of course its free! Thats the point isn't it? If you had to pay $20 for the damn thing, we'd all wait for the DVD.
The point of this forum is to critique the release against the standards that they are labeled as... Its NOT bitching. Sometimes the wording could be better, but overall its the persons opinion as to said quality.
Now can we dispense with the flames and get back to the reviews?

I haven't seen this release yet, but have seen the movie and the original is MUCH better... This follows the book a bit closer than the original but it doesn't save the movie... This movie is more like a day in the life of Micheal Jackson at Neverland.
definately NOT a TC but good nonetheless.
Picture not as sharp as a TC should be and a bit dark (while cleaning the image up they could have added a brightness filter to lighten it up. But just turn brightness up a bit on your TV. Oh on a side note, the AR is off slightly on this and the asteroids release (there is a "proper" doing the rounds which I watched that has fixed AR)
Now the audio....this is the bad bit, sometimes clean but with a hiss or something coming in and out muffling out the true audio (god knows why) Also theres a few dings that you get in windows..heheh (get a grip) and as suggested before probably made up of a few different sources as sounds different in pieces.
But overall very watchable.
I also enjoyed the movie, I like Depp and the story is as you might expect with a few twists from the original.

If NBP was a gaping anus, I'd wear them like a hat! This copy isn't perfect, but it's very watchable.

::EDIT:: I LOVED it. Really, I dunno why everybody hates it so much. It's certainly a different "take" on the book than the old movie but it's certainly a good realisation of it. Great movie for kids too!

Yeah this isn't too bad. Picture quality is a helluva lot better than prevoius releases. As someone said previously, the sound is kinda weird and certainly not normal tc standard.....however, the full titles are there for the video and that is unusual in the extreme for ts films. There is a lot less flicker than ts films as well.
Apart from the odd bleep and the chop to cam sound at the end, the audio for me is fine and you can make everything out.
video: 7 - a little blury and dark but still watchable
audio: 9 - no problems, clear, stereo audio
movie: the song in the sample has got to be one of the worst things I have ever heard, I couldnt wait for it to end. Whole movie looks shit.
