BANNED!

Last half hour of Death Proof is as good as it gets. Planet Terror? Non stop action, gore hip high, dark humor, and all well done. 7 and 9 respectively.

My only gripe with Planet Terror was it was too "big" for a grindhouse tribute film.

You can tell a shitload of money went into that.
Needed to be toned done a bit and more "shitty"

I love Grindhouse, and I'm one of those few that enjoyed DP better. I love Tarantino and everything but this wasn't biased, it was just better.

I just picked up the unrated DVDs so I'll probably have a few mates over next week to watchem

fast,gory,funny.....are you sure you not describing your last power wank....

j fresh...i don't know how much $$ went into planet terror.but i think the reported amount spent on grindhouse was the 50 something million. so yeah, way out of the 'grindhouse' tradition budget wise.

yah ~$53mil
Which is ridiculous. Far too much CG in Planet Terror.

I seriously miss the days of real effects. I would even take the shitty Terminator scenes of the guy with the latex Arnold mask and the bad framerate stop-motion of the T-101 stripped down over CG any day.

I partially agree... CG is cheaper than actually doing the shit by hand so it gets overused - i've seen this in numerous film where something would be better looking if animatronics, make-up effects or stop-motion were used (well, maybe not stop-motion quite so much) but CG was opted for instead. Car chases/crashes are another prime example - I suspect there's stuntmen out there starving to death because some dipshit thinks that panning CG shots of cars weaving within a gnat's pube-width of other cars at 7000mph are going to fool an audience... They don't

I like to move it move it

totally agree, and if you need any proof of how terrible CG can be, try and catch SS Doomtrooper. Always on Sky movies at the mo, and the worst implementation of CG i have ever seen.....a stop motion animation made out of play-do scraps would be more realistic.
