One day it decided to not start, and then when I tried to power it on a day or so later it did...but would freeze (running it normally). This happened for a long while, I got sick of it and decided to put it away once again. I just recently brought it back out and thought to run it in safe-mode. It still would freeze after using it for about 30 minutes or so...but then one day I unplugged one of the fans thinking it may have something to do with my computer...and what do you know, my computer stays on endlessly.

Edit: Oh, and now my computer deletes. Yay.

Odd that unplugging a fan would fix the issue. Can't really think why that would work. Do you have another PC to run, as you could just hook the drive up as a slave and grab all your porn.. err, I mean important info off it?

I'm thinking power supply issue. PS probably going causing some unusual errors, and possible removing the fan reduce the load and allowed the sysytem enough power (on the 12v rail) to operate correctly. One test is try a different PS out of another working system and with the fan plugged in see if you get the same errors.

I've seen my fair share of issues caused by bad PS. Had one take a system completely out (all the hardware including the floppy!) and just had one go bad on my company's computer that ended up screwing the AGP video Card and memory controller. (replacing the mobo, proc and ram next week, thank god I back my shit up!)
