Strange story behind that. It was brewed in Bangalore and exported here...but the company was originally founded in the UK. Some kid thought there was a market for Indian beer in the UK, set up the company and then went to India and found a brewery to make the beer for him. It's only been around for about 20 years, but most people think of it as a genuine Indian beer and think of Kingfisher as a Brit rip-off...whereas Kingfisher has been in India for 150 years. (I was in Bangalore on business last year getting pissed on Kingfisher quite regularly and learning the history of Indian beer They do a stronger one there in a 2 pint bottle that gives you a hangover just looking at it!)
