And as such it confronts the assaults of Sauron from his stronghold in Barad-dûr, and the attacks upon Rohan by Saruman from Orthanc in Isengard. Plus considering Cirith Ungol is not a tower or building for that matter but more of a passage through the mountains of shadow into Mordor, of course you may have it confused with Minas Morgul. If I am at fault on this please correct me.

I got Cirith Ungol from here :

http://members.cts.com/king/e/erikt/tolkien/2towers.htm

The link contains extracts from letters written by Tolkein discussing which towers are two mentioned in the title.

On the cover of my copy of The Two Towers there is an illustration that appears to be Orthanc and Minas Morgul as is mentioned in the above link. From reading the extracts again it would appear that the Tower of Cirith Ungol that is mentioned is the tower Sam and Frodo come across after passing through Shelob's lair.

If this is correct they might have to use a different tower in the film as they won't reach Cirith Ungol until ROTK. Most likely Minas Morgul so that the title refers to the journeys of the two factions of the fellowship.

I was pointing out that this :

is not true as no goes anywhere near Barad-dûr.

As long as I remember that is where Boromir dies in the book.Trying to save Merry & Pippen from the orcs that show up right after Boromir tries to take ring from Frodo.I don't think that part of story was changed.

That's correct. He was killed in the FOTR book, not TTT.

It is correct that Boromir fell in the first chapter of the second book the Two Towers.

The Two Towers Book III Chapter 1, The Departure of Boromir

quote:
'The horn of Boromir!' he cried. 'He is in need!' He sprang down the steps and away, leaping down the path. 'Alas! An ill fate is on me this day, and all that I do goes amiss. Where is Sam?'
As he ran the cries came louder, but fainter now and desperately the horn was blowing. Fierce and shrill rose the yells of the Orcs, and suddenly the horn-calls ceased. Aragorn raced down the last slope, but before he could reach the hill's foot, the sounds died away; and as he turned to the left and ran towards them they retreated, until at last he could hear them no more. Drawing his bright sword and crying Elendil! Elendil! he crashed through the trees.
A mile, maybe, from Parth Galen in a little glade not far from the lake he found Boromir. He was sitting with his back to a great tree, as if he was resting. But Aragorn saw that he was pierced with many black-feathered arrows; his sword was still in his hand, but it was broken near the hilt; his horn cloven in two was at his side. Many Orcs lay slain, piled all about him and at his feet.
Aragorn knelt beside him. Boromir opened his eyes and strove to speak. At last slow words came. 'I tried to take the Ring from Frodo ' he said. 'I am sorry. I have paid.' His glance strayed to his fallen enemies; twenty at least lay there. 'They have gone: the Halflings: the Orcs have taken them. I think they are not dead. Orcs bound them.' He paused and his eyes closed wearily. After a moment he spoke again.
'Farewell, Aragorn! Go to Minas Tirith and save my people! I have failed.'
'No!' said Aragorn, taking his hand and kissing his brow. 'You have conquered. Few have gained such a victory. Be at peace! Minas Tirith shall not fall!'

I think the point was that the poster said he was killed off early in movie .To me it seemed like where it was suppose to happen. What they didn't do was follow the time line of the movie as it relates to the books. They left to much out of Fellowship (Tom Bombadil) and changed story completely for Arwen (Liv Tyler)which has no basis in the books at all.
If i misinterpeted what poster was saying i'm sorry .

I dont think that Moviegod actually views the movies personally as there had only been a single screening and a single copy of the film when this "review" was released (and that was a cast screening too"...but i doubt my opinion matters anyway.

For those who want a proper review... http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=13950

Not much of a review.
I guess you can save this "review" for the next year and reuse it... Just replace "The Two Towers" with "The return of the king"....

Bleh

if they followed the actual timeline of the books, there would be no point, it'd be uninteresting to fans...

kinda like the X-Men movie..

would you want to resee the same shit over and over... between your imagination, a book/comic, and a movie... no you'd wanna see different interpretations of it for everything you see.

Week and a Half away =-o

if a pre is coming out... should be out soon ^_^

ya, it was fuckers like me and corrado, but just remember that no one made him leave. he chose to leave because he didn't like some opinions. yes, it was probably rude to say those opinions, but i thought the topic was worth stepping out on a limb over.
