The video is ok in parts but very dark. The sound is tinny and the music seems totally wrong. I'm not sure is this is just the quality or if music has been dubbed over this film?! Some of the "action scene" music sounds more like an 80's porn film. It's very un-star trek like.

Also, what's with the initial title sequence? It doesn't even seem very professional and there is no paramount introduction.

I'm pretty new to VCD's but this doesn't seem like the final version of the film? I may be wrong, I'm sure I'll be bitched at

All in all, if you're a trekkie, avoid this release.

Want some cheese

It seems that everyone whines over FTF releases. You got to give them credit they beat a path to your door and deliver first. I like some of the stuff that the other crews do but it takes time and when I want to see a movie now FTF is always there and I thank them. This one actually has decent quality on both video and sound. Deffinetly worth the watch..

As for the film quality - it stinks. This is a very poor quality copy, taken from an awful cam job. The sound is rubbish and the picture is worse. Watchable only if you're a die-hard, and can't watch it in the theatre for some reason.

_____I have seen the whole thing and not just a sample. The quality is not that great. It is watch-able but at times it is very hard to see. Do not judge the whole movie's video and audio based on the sample. That sample is the best scene from the movie and does not truely depict the quality of the whole film. Please do not rate this if you are just looking at the sample.

I agree with jfred.... After watching the whole movie I must say that the quality is not that great. The sample is not a true representation of the whole film.
Props on getting the release out so soon though. Good movie.

Not a bad release. Colour is good, not blue like many FTF released. Picture is a bit blurred, but watchable. Audio is pretty good if you fiddle with the treble & bass settings. I'd say this one was worth the download.

i think this movie was totally watchable. it was never hard or difficult to follow what was going on, the picture to me was decent. the sound was ehh, missing in places and just weird in others. i am a star trek fan, and to me, this pre rls was not disappointing. kudo's ftf.

didnt care for it.......story wise....they tried to jam too much in this one, when it seemed like it should have ended when kirk was on on the other one.
video was prolly the best attribute on this release...

Why does FTF even bother

Why watch a movie in such poor quality when groups like TCF and UTi exist. The release quality was sub-par (typical FTF).

I do not want to waste my time when better quality movie rips exist. I will watch something else and wait for a good release.

Not impressed at all, was really looking forward to this movie, since burning it on CD, I threw it straight in the bin ... oh well, let's hope a better version comes out soon
