So its called THE TWO TOWERS....... but yet what Two Towers do they speak of?

Like is the where the red eye is at? Or the bad guy the white wizard guy hangs out at? Or Helm's Deep?

They didnt say nothing bout Two Towers. Id figure it be like the WTC building, side by side doing something.

After a discussion I had on here I decided to go back and re-read The LotR, at the end of the fellowship it says "The second part is called THE TWO TOWERS, since the events recounted in it are dominated by ORTHANC, the citadel of Saruman, and the fortress of MINAS MORGUL that guards the secret entrance to Mordor; it tells of the deeds and perils of all the members of the now sundered fellowship, until the coming of the Great Darkness.
The third part tells of the last defence against the Shadow, and the end of the mission of the Ring-bearer in THE RETURN OF THE KING." Excluding Shelob and thus excluding Minas Morgul the movie changed it to Barad-dûr and Orthanc to allow the title to make sense...

I thought this movie was pretty crummy. This could've been a so-so 2 hour movie, but no...Peter Jackson had to make it an "epic." In doing so, the movie became drawn out and tedious to watch in my eyes. Perhaps the second book just wasn't fit for a film adaptation as the first one was. I can only hope that number 3 returns to what they had going on in Fellowship.
Golem was good enough on his own. He was the only character I actually cared for in the whole film. The scene that was funniest to me was the first real conversation he had with himself in the forrest. That was classic. That kind of stuff works...you can laugh at how sincere the scene is, and how well its done, as opposed to the comedy that comes in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Who cares how hyped the picture is. Get real, 2 guys riding around on a tree for 3 friggin hours is STUPID. It looks stupid as well. And the whole notion of the fellowhip's journey is barely touched on. They go around in circles in what seem to be the same landscapes fighting pretty lame battles.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the battle of Helm's Deep was in the third book. No wonder Jackson decided to bring it to the second movie. It needed that extra umph. And IMO, Helms Deep didn't even do that. They turned what should've been a classic scene into an overall uninteresting thing to watch. I'm assuming that that battle was supposed to be the movie's climax. what a joke. It proves that Peter Jackson knew this movie needed something else.
I'm not in any way biased against Lord of The Rings. I thought that the first one was great. And i'm also not one of those guys who read the books and can now appreciate the movies more. I'm just a moviegoer who appreciates good film making, no matter where the story is rooted (plays, novels etc). And I consider the two towers to be an example of loose filmmaking. It was not held together well, and all the respect the fellowship of the ring had garnered in my mind came falling down pretty hard once the credits started to roll on this movie.
The Golden Globe nomination for best picture on this one blows me away. This movie doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell winning that award, and it sure as hell doesn't deserve the nod.

I think what cccmmm meant when he complained about the Ent-riding was how many scenes we saw of it. Generally, whenever the Ents were around, the mood was set to a slow almost held back sort of environment. I didn't mind the Ents talking or being slow, but it seems like whenever they were on screen the entire movie started to go slow. As we all know, TTT was in no way in danger of being too short. In a movie like this it's more than common to say, "That scene moves a little too slow, drop it." But they didn't seem to do that with this one.

Also, The Battle of Helm's Deep was seriously not as good as I had hoped it was going to be. It was still great and all, but after awhile it just got boring. I can only see so many orcs get stomped on before something new has to happen. I guess it's the equivalent of if Gladiator's opening scene had taken up half the movie instead of just the opening sequence. It was a great and massive scene, but kept itself short after it knew we were tired of seeing Russell Crowe roll people.

Great movie I love long movies you get more for your money just wish half way in between they would have like a 10 minute break cuz man your ass fucking hurts after watching that movie in theater chairs that long. Maybe I don't got enough fat in my ass
