i just watched this, it was a great release. i know that it was nuked in places for the reason you say... but it's stupid; the 'svcd council' rules of 2002 have that 2450 max bitrate thing, which is lower than the SVCD standard specs dictate for SVCD, which makes no sense. maybe that's why TCF and some other groups didn't endorse those rules.
this release has a video bitrate with peaks of 2530Kbps, and 224Kbps audio; by even the most conservative interpretation of the SVCD standard specs, this is 2Kbps lower than the max combined bitrate, and 9Kbps or so lower than max for the video. So nuking according to those rules is lame. if you have a dvd player that says it plays svcd, and it falters at this bitrate, you was robbed. take it back and tell them it doesn't perform as advertised.
