Besides Red October, Have there been any other rips that have not come out to your satisfactory? I'm just trying to get a feel for dvd2svcd because every movie that i have used it for has been successful. I have not yet tried Red October but if this is just one of the handful of movies that do not work with dvd2svcd then I believe using the prog is very efficient. The time saved using the program and ease, and quality definitely outweigh the remote possibility of a bad rip happening.
Otherwise, what if a group renamed the cue sheet and the bin. Would anyone ever know if dvd2svcd was used?
It has only been a couple for me. My suggestion is to run dvd2svcd but do not delete the extracted_audio.mp2 and enconded_video.m2v file until you watch it to see the results. If the results are not up to par you can use tmpgenc to mux and re-encode the movie.
If you have any other questions, we should probably move this to another thead. Kinda getting off topic. oops
