eewwwwww. hate both/all (3?) companies...

my philips 2x2x8 CDRW fuckin' broke in less than a year; the p/m $150-200 boombox makes thup-thup-thupping noises when played at even low volumes, and, well, zenith. >GAG< >CHOKE< worst TVs, no, make that electronics, on earth...

i'd take my "$80 power buttonless" player (region changable, MV free and all) over even a Toshiba/Sony/Pioneer/etc...

however, opinion MIGHT change after (when and if) i get a Flat Screen/HD Flat Screen... tho i hear WEGAs (and ASSumably others as well) have something to resize Anamorphic WS images, making getting an expensive DVD player for WS conversion a moot point...

and yeah, non-VCD compliance and desynching is a PITA, but then again, i can play plain MPEGs sitting in the root directory just peachy keen. something i can't do on any "expensive" DVD players i've come across...

Retarded Idiot!

Centropy releases are 100% compliant PAL VCD's. if you have any problems playing their releases the problem is ENTIRLEY within your DVD player and the inability to decode PAL properly.

every centropy release i have, including this one, follows this exact standard...
Video:
1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1
352 x 288 pixels
25 frames/second

Audio:
224 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2
now if you dont believe me feel free to open the dat file in windows media player and check the file properties to verify this but i assure you ALL CENTROPY RELEASES ARE FULLY VCD COMPLIANT. i cant say the same for every DVD player.

now on to the next point... the name of this site is VCDQuality not sampleQuality so please don't comment untill you have seen the VCD not just the sample that the group undoubtedly took from the very best part of the movie.

as far as the VCD goes... this is a fairly good release. it is just a little to dark in dark areas and the whites are either tinted blue or so washed out they have no detail. if you are used to watching TS's then you will have no complaints with this one but if you are expecting screener quality then wait for a screener.

the audio is top notch in this one... no buzzing or noise like the scorpion king.

again this is a PAL release so my apex does have some problems where it goes in and out of sync, thats the apex not the VCD because it plays on my computer flawlessly.

I'm On Da TV, Am I?

Unhappy Corrupt

Ok, Normally I wouldn't post anything like this on the forum, but has anyone else had a problem with rar 16 for CD 2 of MBN??? I figured it was just a corrput file from where I got it from, so I downloaded it from another site, and it also was corrupt. If anyone else has had the same problem, please let me know.

im just tired of all you little lamer motherfuckers kissing ctp's ass. yeah they have good quality rls's. BUT... there is a legion of people that cannot play theyre releases. and if its not playable on a standalone it defeats the point of a vcd and they might as fucking well just become a god damn divx rls group

Magnavox & Zenith!

yes the buzzing is their fault, u have to admit...

still haven't fixed that, and the odd bluish tint now and then...
i reckon those "bad" copies come from the same source.

hmmm.. well sheeeit. who is it that does those bizzare video bitrate VCDs then?

**edit #2

i thought it was CTP, too, but the br on MBR is 1150kbs...

small question, tho... isn't the *official* bitrate 1148, not 1150?

as for desynching, i guess i'll find out soon... downloading the movie right now...

**edit #3

it WAS CTP... Blade 2 had the fuxored up bitrate. the intro was normal, but the movie was that 1200-something shit...

Cool

For fucks sake, I can't believe some of you people. I've been coming to vcdquaitly for ages and only just started to post. What pisses me off and from what I've read, alot of other people, are the complaining bitchs and idiots out there, who go on and on about little things. The simple thing that NEEDS to be made clear here is, THESE ARE FUCKING FREE MOVIES, you morons, and the fact you can watch them at home as well, a bonus, what do you want ? dolby 5.1 ?.
This release just happens to be one of the best releases centropy have done, period and others agree with me. Quailty on video is tops. If so many of you complaining gits are that know it all about such things as audio and picture, fuck of to the cinema yourself, get a camera, and do a release. Until then, why not just enjoy the stuff you get FOR FREE!!!

Also, this aint no revalation, I aint trying to turn loads of you around, I'm stating facts here people, there are to many people who complain about some fucking stupid things, hell, this stuff is totally dodgey anyways, yet they expect the earth with video and audio, encoding etc.. get real.

Anyway, thats this years rant from me.

Centropy, well done for a top release good stuff

Hello to other top people as well

no i didn't have any problems with any corrupt rars. maybe one day the scene will realize their transportation method is not perfect and adopt the use of par files. the scene generally lags behind usenet as far as technology goes anyway so im sure they will start using pars eventually.

yes the buzzing is their fault but de-syncing is not. again this release does NOT have buzzing so at least as far as this release is concerned the did fix that.

i stand corrected. the bitrate in blade 2 is 1246000 and not 1150000 so it is an XVCD. this release however, as backed up by plonk420, is the proper bitrate and fully compliant. i was wrong to say every release is compliant when i didnt check every release. i was wrong on saying every release is compliant. i got plonked and i deserved it.

ehh, this website is VCDQUALITY, right? i AM in the right place, aren't i? so at least some of the discussion here would be to bitch out sloppy releases. this isn't one, IMO.

that'd be hard to do. theater sound isn't STANDARD DD, let alone a bitrate i can stand at all. i'd prefer Dolby SR (analog) over Theater Dolby Digital. and that's saying something...

heh .. i get it for free, anyways... w00t! well, except for smaller releases like Kissing Jessica Stein (or whatever) or Monsters Ball (which no one i know seemed to like...)

the audio was good enough for me, as far as i can tell. still need to take it over to the standalone, tho... (i'd prefer to wait to finish downloading it rather than knock a rewrite of a CDRW by burning just the sample...)

agreed. very much so.

pjeer?

CURSE YOU DUMWALDO !
was just gonna flame you for being wrong about the xvcd thing

yeah, both Res Evil and Blade 2 (for sure) and probably others were XVCD hence why they lag on players. I'd be interested to know how CTP master their VCD images, cos if its not the fact they were xvcd bitrates (the main bitch i had was they lowered the sound bitrate down to 128kbit.. NOOO! horrible horrible horrible) cos they gotta be doing SOMETHING weird.

anyway curse you, wanted to prove u wrong but u noticed. damn

and people PLEASE learn some things ::

1.just because your DVD player plays it doesn't make it compliant
2.if someone can't play a release do NOT presume its their "cheapy" player. I bet you're $500 players can't play 5500kbit miniDVD formats? well my $99 player can.
3.any more of this 128kbit audio malarky and i'll cut the dogs bollocks off. ok !

BANNED

The ctp releases Count of Monte Cristo and We Were Soldiers were also 1246 Mbits video. My beef is there is something wrong with the aspect ratio on some of ctp's releases. Collateral Damage and the Count of Monte Cristo both had messed up aspect ratios. Wish ctp would get their act together and release quality like they used to.

---oh, and forgot to add... MBN is a'ight. best damn TS i've seen. but still not THAT hot. can't wait for Life... to exit the queue(s) and friggin' download, already...
