Movie was great will definetly be going to see it again in the theater...

Vid- Yes the framrate is a bit funky but i hardly noticed it once i got into the movie, just a few scenes it seems to stand out. The scenes that are black/white...guess what? There was supposed to be in black and white, and the scenes with the 4,3,2,1... are supposed to be there, because its a....WORKING PRINT. Other than that not bad, better than most Wp's i've seen

Audio- No real problems, the fucking beeping is supposed to be there you idiots, he doens't want people to know her real name people have already posted about this jeez...

As i said i liked the movie, but its not for everyone. Yes certain aspects of the movie were overdone, but they were supposed to be. Don't slam the film though saying its a piece of crap, when you don't even know what Tarintino was going for with this film, he wanted to pay homage to the movies he loved as a kid, and he's done a fine job so far with Kill Bill imo...

Well after watching this release and going to the theatre and watching that release, all my misunderstandings have been cleared... First off Chapter 1 (2) is at the beginning of the movie. Its classic Tarentino, that the story jumps around back and forth. Second the beginning and the fight in the restaurant, the scene reminiscent of the Matrix Reloaded, is also in black and white. Also, yeah the ending is meant to leave you hanging. This release to me is almost flawless, except for the annoying frame counter between scenes (the countdown 8, 7, 6...beep, scene). Those scenes are noticable in the theatre version, if there is a way for someone to splice those out, you would have the theatre version.

Ramp, you are fucking wrong this tyme man. The reason it beeps on the workprint.....is because it beeps in the actual flick at the movies. The reason it turns B&W is because it turns B&W at the movies. What ya'll see on the workprint, is actually whats in the theatre release. The only bullshyt that only on the workprint, is the countdown between scenes.

He/she could have done a better job on this awesome film!

Props for the quick release! I have played this on a VCD player and a DVD player and both seemed slightly outta sync! It was noticeable in the first few scene when uma is kickin off with vivica! Also the encoding job the guy/gal did made this film slightly jerky! Again its most noticable when uma pulls up outside vivicas house!

I love these guys that watch so little and judge so much.

On to my rating...

Video:
VHS quality. Get a better DVD player and/or media for those that think otherwise. A pretty good encoding job compared to other sh!t I've seen lately. Couldn't do anything about reel changes, so not counted against video. [8]

Audio:
Good enough, not too loud. In fact I turned it up a lil' [9]

Movie:
WTF? My wife acutually like a Taratino film for once. If you liked Pulp Fiction, this is nothing like it. Pulp was for the witty dialogue and this is for the blood and sword play. I disliked the b&w during some of the fighting scenes, I just hope that when DVD is released we have some type of director's cut that might let me see how *red* the scenes were. Good story, can't wait for Vol. 2. [10]

Audio - 7 - A bit out of sync at times, but not that noticable
Video - 7 - A little blurry, but not bad for a VCD
Movie - 7 - Personally, i was a bit disappointed

Overall, this movie and version is more than worth the download. The timers disappear early on. For whatever reason, the movie just stops, goes to a black screen, and then starts a 8 sec countdown, before it continues. That was a tad annoying, but it only happens a handful of times throughout the movie. Nice release for being so early.

I've actually got the FTM version, but since most comments are in this thread I thought I'd post this in here:

Can anybody that actually knows about the B&W scene please clear this up...........perhaps somebody thats seen it in the Theater?
(I'm not disrespecting anybody thats posted in here.....but everybody has conflicting reasons and disagrees as to whether it is intentional or not.)

I was convinced it was intentional, because it seemed so in sync with the action, but then on the trailer there is a moment in that B&W scene thats shown in colour.!?


Also the two beeps are nothing to do with reel changes as ramp mentioned above.........the beeps they were referring to occur when the Bride's name is mentioned.

this movie is awesome.. as soon as i was done downloading this i went and burnt it to cd to watch it on my dvd player. you should try burning it at a slower speed.. like 4x, just to make sure you get the best transfer. and anyone who says this movie is bad, is as dumb as jessica simpson. tarantino is a great film maker and this film seals the deal, thats for damn sure...

Here's what I think

workprints from films that are edited digitally on NLEs are better in quality than from films that are edited on film. 'Probably why this one has no marks or writing on it.

This WP may have been made from a 24frame HD transfer after it was edited with DVCPRO or something.

ok no need to answer my earlier question............

somebody posted the original script in the movies forum.
(http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~alexward/script.htm) even if you've seen KB dont scroll all the way down as KB volume 2 is included in the script.

It mentions that scene and that it is intentionally in high-res B&W to make the blood look black and oily.

The worry that that scene was supposed to be in colour was one of my main gripes, I didn't mind the 8 second countdowns too much................so that leaves me with only one problem with it.....the framerate.

Yes, the bride has a name. In Vol. 1, it is bleeped whenever it is mentioned. This is doen intentionally - it is even described in the movie script (which has been online for over a year). We will learn what 'The Bride's real name is in Vol. 2.

Also, the black and white scenes are the same in the theater.
