First have you watched the movie? Second do you realize credits count as part of the run time? It's missing some of that movie company logo BS so I'd say that's an extra minute or so. About 7 minutes of credits sounds right to me. Unless there was something at the end of the credits like Dawn of the Dead or even Soul Plane the proper was complete and pretty nice I might add. The proper is also 121min and 44 seconds.

This is a bit blurry. It's good enough for now but I hope a screener comes out soon.

shit, because vcdquality didn't post about the videocd release, I didn't learn about it in time, so I downloaded this one. Why isn't the videocd release posted on this site? It is on izonews!

this release is not that bad. admitted, there are a couple of minutes missing, but nothing special, you won't miss anything important or worth watching.

Video and audio are superb - both 8
Movie itself sux, just as I expected, there's waaay too much action, every couple of seconds something explodes. It's illogical too - read the forum on imdb.com - the people there are right, something is wrong throughout the movie, take for example the Frankenstein's monster flying through the air holding to a rope, and then somehow this rope hits Igor, standing on the bridge. The rope is in vertical position, while, when it hits Igor, it's in horizontal position, which makes no sense at all. I don't explain it very well, just pay attention to that scene, you'll notice what I mean.

Anyway, if you are a Kate Beckinsale fan, the movie is worth watching, cause she looks gorgeous. On the other hand, she's got a rather minor role and there are not many opportunities for her to show off her acting talent, esp., since it's of course an action movie, rather than a character focussed movie. It's just too predictable.

I also think it's stupid to use famous characters from romantic literature in Hollywood movies, it waters them down. It's the same bullshit as in "The league of extraordinary gentlemen".

Then again, I did love some of the allusions to famous Hollywood blockbusters, like James Bond and Aliens. That was funny. Indeed, there were some funny moments, like Mr. Hyde's nearly losing his trousers, exposing his ass to the camera, or Dracula's sudden and surprising changes from an evil character to a rather neurotic and insecure character. This also gives the movie a greater depth than you'd expect, looking at all those senseless explosions.

So my rating for the movie itself is 4

8/8/4

I have watched all three copies and the one to get is videocd.
VCDCentral did a good job but a few scenes were missing. And although those scenes are minor you would never know this if you haven't seen the whole thing. Videocd seems to be taking charge in the consistant quailty releases.

Look at that scene again and it makes perfect sense. This is an example of how people will look for something to make a film come across bad. It wasn't that bad of a movie. Your basic action flick with a few surprises going in. I don't think anybody was expecting academy type material here in the first place.

Van helsing

I m here. so Im just going to give a review with out all the technical dialogue.

Watch video cd version .

Video quality is 6.5 -7 at best very pixelated - watchable

extremely annoying audience. What was even worse. Having to watch the back of someone 's head dead center of the screen during the whole movie.

Audio would have been better without the audience.

couldnt really hear the film. Just a bunch of morons screaming throughout the entire movie.

Reason number one . Why I dont go to movie theatres.

The movie itself was cool. What I could hear. Reminded me of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as far as CGI goes.

Kinda over did it on dracula & frankenstein.

No presence.

As to watching Christopher lee's piercing eyes. Where he didnt have to say a word. You were scared. Now thats horror.

Still over all good movie.

Watched both versions of Scooby 2.

beginnig credits breaks up . Disc 2 tends to freeze .

Will have to wait for better I suppose.

I dont know what movie everyone else watched, but van helsing ROCKED!!! Too much action??? Are u kidding me?!?!?! Action is what keeps the viewer going!! This movie had it all - Action, StoryLine, Characters, Hot girls, Sci-Fi!! Im shocked people didnt like this.. Even frankenstein is in it!! Van helsing put on a great performance...I also liked dracula's 3 brides...Frankenstein even sounded so harmless and convincing..

GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! Much better than average...A non-stop thrill ride!!

Oh yeah - VideoCD rating
7/8/8
Another outstanding release! Picture was the weakest point, but it was definately watcheable and enjoyeable! Sound amazing...Movie itself an 8..
Thanks VideoCD for being the #1 QUality release group...
