I kind of miss the laugh track and it wasn't on for long enough. I feel unsatisfied.

Im with you on that. Also, they didnt seem right. Hard to put my finger on it. Like they (or at least the writers) were doing bad impressions of the old characters...

Mimzy

I don't normally watch commercial channels so that "Dave Brand New" logo in the 4:3 safe area was a real distraction.

Part 2 was better, still pretty weird though.

For the American fans who don't know, the place they drove to at end of part 2 was Coronation Street. It's a street in a British Soap Opera called "Coronation Street ", thats the show that Craig Charles, the actor who plays Dave Lister has been working on for last few years.

Its bizarre, are they gonna turn up at Scrap Yard challenge to find Robert Llewellyn ? What about Chris Barrie and Danny John Jules, they've only done a few random bit parts here and there since Red Dwarf ended.

Watched pt 1 earlier today and I have to agree, no laugh track so it didn't feel right though I have to say they did a decent job considering it's been how many years since the last episode?

Gonna watch pt 2 and making of tomorrow.

I kind of enjoyed it after watching all 3 episodes, it was basically a rehash of an old story but it gives me hope of maybe a full season with some new adventures.

Maybe the "9th series" that they referred to in the past tense will eventually emerge, it would have to be as a prequel to this Easter special and we'd see kochanski leave and Kryten lie about her dying.

Admin?

I didn't mind it, the episodes were quite well written and produced but I agree with some of you with regards to the laughter track... Nobody wants "canned" laughter but Red Dwarf and many other comedy shows are played to a live audience and recorded - the laughter was conspicuous by it's absence but I still enjoyed it.
