Can anyone confirm that this release is missing scenes?

According to my math (and assuming FTF uses 15meg part sizes), the TCF release is actually bigger in size (132 parts TCF -vs- 121 parts FTF). I'm sure other factors could cause that discrepency..but... if you have any insight as to whether or not this release is missing scenes....please post

BTW the movie was great.

Just go figure out the math and look the the label of the cds. what does it say? 80min? NO WAY! i guess that means on 2 cds they can only fit 1hour 40min tops on 2cds while still being able to see the picture. Less you release a proper and some how figure a way to encode it to 2 cds dont ever say something that stupid again.

A 80 min cd is as stated, u can fit a 80 min vcd on that cd, encoded at standard vcd specs, 1150 bitrate and 224 audio, do it all the time, Made alot of 99 min cd's too 1 hour and about 39 mins......but for me is hard to find at any local store, compusa had them last yr, now gone...found a few websites with them but they were those cheapy silver/silver's that scratch real easy.
Movie has that blue colorless hue thats typical of a cam, watchable....enough to spoil us for now.
All u guys that remember last yrs first 2 or so releases will enjoy this, remember the copy with the missing first 5 mins?, started at the first big fight scene instead of the making of the ring.
A fool friend of mine bought 2 asian dvd's that were that rip..was horrible..lol
TCF rules as the dvdrip they made last january was prob the best ever to date....boy i wish i had a dvd burner for that one!

I saw the sample of this and i dont know to me its odd. It has good color, yet maybe a slight bluish tint.. but i saw movie in theater and a whole lot of movie itself was like that so its a hard call. Also from sample. pic just doesnt look right. Weird sizing in my opinion, and it does get a bit pixelated in some motion. My opinion from the sample, if you are impatient and are to damn cheap to shell out 5-8 bucks to go see a movie like this, i pity you and go ahead and d/l this. Nothing beats the movie experience. However, last time it was only a matter of weeks afterwards til we saw tcf release a screener. Im going to sit tight and hope that comes like last time. If not a screener from someone else is bound to come within a month or 2. This movie deserves that respect. Seeing it in any less quality deters as it is better than the first LOTR b many respects.

Sorry to be the one that rains on your parade but you obviously seem to be confused on 3 points. Let me enlighten you

1. Minutes on the cd do matter, CBR or constant bitrate of 1000kbits (Roughly) mpeg 1 stream, which this vcd is have a set size. Which corresponds to how much data a 1 speed cd can stream. This is no coincidence obviously being an early 90's standard most players were 1 speed. So a 99 minute cd would give 99 minutes of video (Not all writers or players can use these, I did hear you could get 120 minute cd's.) Which would mean you could indeed fit this onto 2 cd's if you desired. More hassle than it's worth. The scene frowns on making 80 minute cd's that you have to overburn so 99 minute cd's are a no no. Compatibility you see.

2. You can indeed fit a 2 gig file over 2 99 minute cd's.

80 minute cd's can hold 700 meg right, wrong they can hold 800 meg A vcd or a svcd for that matter burn in xa mode 2 (I think) which has less error correction thus more space to fit the mpeg bits.

Raw maths dictate if an 80 minute cd can hold 800 meg then (800/80) * 99 == 990 meg well with a bit of over burn you could get that extra 10 meg.

I think 1 second of video == 175K *60 secs ==10500 *179 minutes == 1879500 K or 1.87 gig.

3. Vob is a dvd fileformat which has the mpeg 2 inside (Much like .dat on vcd) This is not a dvd it is a vcd

I hope this clears everything up for you.

See vcdhelp.com for anymore help it should clear up any problem a newbie might have. I believe there's a guide on this site somewhere.

This version is really better than ftf's one. Sound and picture is more clearer. Still this movie needs to be played in a cinema, it's just too good.

Allright I didnt read all the posts before this, but I have grabbed this release - watched around ten minutes and then stopped it,Im not going to spoil the film by watching this.
Respect due, prompt rls ,sound is better than I've heard from most cams, but unfortunately the picture quailty is awfull,at times u cant distinquish whats actually on the screen.
It also seems to be running at around 12 fps and the left side of the screen is cut off.
All in all if you shrink the window down to about an inch squared it will look fine - but who wants to do that?
I'd say video 4,sound 6.5,film unwatched =[
Still respect due,I think the guy was shitting himself cause he keeps hiding the cam now and then.

Motherfucker!

Has anyone seen the UTi rls yet? Seen it up on irc, trying to dld cd1 of it now.

I'm pretty sure its not as good as TCF or FTF, but then again, it is a cam and in avi format rather than tar or rar, which means it could conceivable take up more than 3 cds.

Just wondering if anyone has it yet.

@ TheCAndyman

I've seen whats reportedly an uti version
of this film,
however its only a divx encode of the CAM version.
Its in 2 parts, of 200mb ish each so
the total size is just over 400mb, which would make a very
poor dvdrip but is fine for a rls of this quality as the quality
isnt great

Theres several channels on IRC that make 2-300mb
avi's of TC's where the quality is already poor.
Its a godsend for us people with no standalone players
that only use our comps to play back movies
and dont want to d/l 2-3cd's of crap quality film
when a 200mb divx encode would suffice
I can sometimes get a film in 20mins (120k d/l max speed)

I am getting this now and it is decent. I think you should definitly see this movie in theatres first though. Much better and well worth the 7.50 for the ticket. It was a great movie. It is funny how people say "Oh I am getting that movie on kazaa in 34 hours i will see it." then it turns out to be some porn movie... KAZAA ISNT FOR WAREZ!!! All it is good for is PORN. If you are looking for warez dont go to P2P all it is is renamed shit that is uploading at .9684 kb/s. Just a little PSA for all you l33t h@x0rz who dont know this
