Perhaps CTP has quality standards and ripping this to VCD wouldn't meet their standards while SVCD kept it clear enough to meet their minimum expectations. IMHO.

Video = slighly grainy but clear enough

Sound = nice

Pic is good, very watchable and sound is excellent too, no straining to hear what's going on. Film I haven't watched all of of yet.

Oh and people arguing about svcds and vcd... vcd pisses me off so much 'cos of pixelation, 'specially noticeable on flat screen tv's, svcd is much better and in my opinion well worth the extra MB.

Im surprised i never got badly flamed for that, though i have managed to re-encode a VCD to SVCD and not lose quality, well nothing that noticable, but it involved encoding to an uncompressed AVI first, then back SVCD using CCE.

I snagged the Sample, pretty good. For a pre-release the quality is frikin awsome. If they wana do SVCDs it's their business, if you don't like them putting a TS on SVCD then don't download it. Your not paying for it, and nobody makes you download it. If you really can't afford an extra 20 cent CDr then convert it to regular VCD. Anyways quality TS, props on speed, 7/9/?

honestly, i sit here and read all these posts, and i say to my self
self: the time it takes these young people to sit here and write trash about a release is sad, they spend all ther energy hating, and no time enjoying life, if you dont like what centropy does to there releases, or how there encoded, simply put dont dl it. It takes less time to look on vcdq see the sample jpg then say to yourself hey it looks like shit and pass, then it does to come here type up a post and wreck a release group for putting out a movie you or you or you dont like, so save your time, and energy dont click the lil lightining bolt on your fxp proggy no one is forcig you to dl it, or to come here bitchin that you just wasted credits or bandwidth, just say NO and stop your whinning!

if you asked me.. there using one of these , just by watchign this release I can tell. I may be wrong, and maybe centropy just didnt run it through any filters. But either way, this is a shitty camera, and not good for TS's whatsoever.
