rename VTS_01_2 -> VTS_03_2
rename VTS_01_3 -> VTS_03_3
rename VTS_01_4 -> VTS_03_4
copy ONLY these 4 renamed vobs to the original VIDEO_TS folder, overwriting the originals.
load ifoedit
click open and choose video_ts.ifo
click on get vts sectors
answer yes to process all
save the altered vts's
burn, you are done.

I think this is because we are using the original IFO files (with all the correct timing for the original VOBs). Even though they did a VTS Sector fix, I still think all the chapters are going to be screwed up.

What I will try is make my own chapters and import the IFO that I made. Chapter times are off anyways in the TWC (maybe even the retail... I'll use the US release as a template... Hopefully they contain the same number chapter positions).

Anyone else have any solutions? We are close, just a little tweaking for perfection.

Notice the DTS version? I hear that one has no problems, I can imagine most people from here are already jumping on that wagon

LOL yeah saw the new release after I just finished this new method for forced subs last night. By the way it worked great. Don't know about the chapter issue as I honestly have no reason to skip around watching a movie so I don't, or I use the scene thing. Definitely no reason to burn it again for me. The DTS is tempting though

okay so i went through the guide and thought id let ya'll know how it went.

First, it took about 3 hours, not 1
i got some kinda bitrate error in ifoedit

other than that it went pretty smooth

BUT

in movie chapter selection no longer works (just brings ya back to 1)
the subtitles are about 3 seconds off (in some cases, the scence will be over and the sub titles will just appear) - eg. "it is i who has penetrated you" - gogo
the subs are now a different color, kinda grey with black outline.

these are all things that can be fixed but think ill just head over to the dts version....ive waited long enough :-P

Have you looked at it from begining to end? Are all the subs there and in the right place?

hmm I didn't see any subs off time wise, but I'll have to recheck the example you gave. They are gray now which is kind of ugly, but I'll live with it. Wonder if this sub sheet was just taken from the US one and that is why it is off at times, because of the small time difference. Could be I guess, I didn't notice it when I flipped through, but could have missed it.

I didn't get the error everyone is mentioning and it took less than an hour on my machine.

Hi all new here nice to meet you all.

I tried the demuxing and rebuilding like was sugested above and worked great.

i also have a fix for the chapter problem, I dont know if some of you have noticed but when you select start from the main menu it jumps to chapter 4 and miss the bride been shot in the head.

I used Menuedit tool for this

open menu edit and select VTS_03_0 vob
select vob id 12 under that heading select
vob id: 1 (4 buttons)
hit edit button on 1 change the command to JumpVTS_PTT 1:1
in group 1 and 2 and save it

do the same for vib id 13 to.

once you have done this when you hit play move in the main menu it will start from chatpter 1

hope this helps i have not noticed any problems with the chapter selection on my pc using powerdvd it seems to skip to them no problems at all have not tried it on my dvd player yet.

anyway i still am not going to burn it yet as i perfer the colours for the subs to be the same in kill bill us version.

how can i change the colours to make it the same, is there a guide on subtitlescolours or do anyone here know how to make them the same as the orig. meaning white writing with a bold black out line i`m sure thats what it looks like in the orig kill bill.

anyway have a good one and i hope this helps you on the start movie chapter fix

Maybe if you try this SubRip 1.17.1 program listed at the top of the sub sheet he posted. Don't know if it will let you change colors.

vcdhelp might have info on something like that if that doesn't work or you can check doom9 probably. Good luck.

one thing i also notice is with another release from twciso... for there Love Actually DVDR rip it plays subtitles through the whole movie.. wonder if this Kill Bill fix can be used with it?

tried this subrip but why rip the whole subs and fiddle again if you look at the subs above it has colour options just need to no the colour no and what each one do`s so i can manual edit it

It should be fairly easy to fix these little problems. All you would need to do is download subrip and open any film, create the subtitles in the right colour. Then copy the colour section from the text file it creates and replace the colour settings in the kill bill text file

Found this guide. Looks simple

well i wanted to go the full hog so i have fixed the subs in the jap version of the dvd using the help above.

i have ripped the Usa version and replaced the vobs with the jap vobs and guess what all is working english menus with uncut version of kill bill and subs working.

but just one problem all the chapters work untill the last 2, thay are not the correct time as usa kill bill is 5 vobs and jap is 4 vobs.

but i have to say the usa version is 3.99 gig while the jap version is 3.85gig only 150meg in it so there should be no quality diffrence.

is there a tool or somthing that i can change the chapter times without rebuilding it while its in its dvd form i mean.

all the chapters work but like i said its just the last 2 that dont match

exactly bush that is what I was thinking, no need to actually redo killbill, but subrip will probably help visually show you and give you the value you want. Also if you found all of the dialog places it would be possible to just adjust the times.

Sorry bout that

I tried using subrip but no matter colours i changed the text you get the same output in the text file

No matter what i did i got that output, maybe if you just changed the numbers manually in the txt file. Would be trial and error but maybe it would work

i actually thought the subtitles looks digusting, but i just watched it on my 47" widescreen and it didnt look as bad as it did in powerdvd.
