one thing ill never understand though...

WHY IN THE BLUE HELL IS THIS LABELED A SVCD!!! i did all caps for one reason, its fuckin tiresome, lol. why cant groups just label their shit right? it wont deter people, and if it does, so what!! this is vcd, not svcd. the time per cd says so, and my stand alone says so, so why cant they? or at least the people that add the movie to the listings here. i know its not a huge deal, but its just one of those things that sticks in my craw, lol. but yeah, i doubt i will mess off with the centropy version. after playing with the video settings for all of a minute, i had a very nice looking pic on mah tv.

because it IS svcd, look at the resolution, its 480*576, and PowerDVD says MPEG2, thats PAL SVCD. my ratings:
7/8/? colors are not that great and its a bit dark but still very watchable.

Hi guys, have just finished downloading TCF's T3 & as with at least one other post, I have been unable to mount the bin/cue onto my virtual drive. Only after extracting the mpeg using Vcdgear I have been able to watch the film.

I give the film

7.0 / 7.5 / 8.0 when played through my TV & Hi-Fi and

6.5 / 6.0 / 8.0 off the pc.

I know this is a little off topic but there is no thread in the forum, any burning tips. I have tried burning the bin/cue with no success and also buring the extracted mpegwith partial success.

If you're using Daemon Tools and PowerDVD then mount the bin then use file mode to play the dat file in the virtual drive, I burnt this just fine with CDRWin though. Nero is a no no with multisession. And to extract the mpeg use vcdgear with fix mpeg error off or extract using isobuster.

Good pic, good audio, and I thought the movie was good as well.
I seen the sample from Centropy as well after I saw this release but I won't be bothering getting the whole movie again, this was very watchable imo.

It gets 7/7/8 from me

Pretty decent pic and the hum wasn't that bad. Audio sounds full so I don't notice the hum too much. Colors seem a bit dull. I won't bother getting the centropy version since I am sastified with this version and and any improvements probably wouldn't be worth the download. Didn't watch the movie yet but I'll do so tonight.

7.5/8/? I hope 10

Wow - surprisingly good...

I just watched the entire thing last night (After I got back from seeing it at the theater), and I have to say - I'm impressed.

I haven't seen much from TCF other than screeners, but this is definately a good sign. The audio is perfectly acceptable, the pic is a tad washed out as far as colors, but the picture itself is sharp and has no motion blur. It's very watchable.

Good job, TCF...

7/8/7

Not too bad. I'll give it a 7/7/8.

Would be better if the black level of the camera was set to be correct for a black piece of film, and the iris set for a clear piece of film. These will make the colors look more saturated, and prevent the blown out highlights. Also set the white balance to the clear film, and adjust black balance with the black film (if you have manual control of those things). Also sounds like there is an impedance mis-match or balanced to un-balanced problem with the audio (the buzz). Work those things out and you will have 9's and 10's. But good job.

Watched part of the first cd this morning, the crane chase scene is awesome, Ctp's sample looks alot better colorwise, theres alot of light flickering in TCF's annoys the shit outta me.
Sound has annoying hum but on tv not as bad, Looks good in "sports" mode on the Wega
Looks like a must see theater movie cause this doesnt do justice for the chase scenes
7/7/9

After wathinc the fisrt 10minutes of the movie ive noticed that there is exsecive brightness and tcf could have just fixed it by adjusting the contrast a little. other than that the sound seems ok expept for the buzz. anyway better than most other misslabled cams and silvers. 7/7/?

I watched this release twice so far and love it!
The audio is fair to good and there is no noticable angle and its not cropped alot. The colors are ok, maybe some dullness... I messed with the colors and contrast etc and it really makes this release look better.
This release was both bright and dark at the same time IMHO.

Great release TCF

Audio = 7-8
Video = 7.5-8.5 (Tweak the colors and contrast and saturation etc)
Movie = 10

Very good movie and love the story and the ending... look forward to T4

Please, please, please tell em that is sarcasm..
I don't want to believe that anyone could be that stupid.

As for the release, video is sharp (washed out colours to ad egree) and the sound has this annoyingly loud buzz, but turning down the treble did wonders for sorting it out.

7/7/?

Not cropping... definitely the best! The sound is not bad and the picture can be adjust a lot better if you play with your tv settings.

Nice.

Watched part fo the first cd and I was impressed. The picture looked a little washed out but I think it can be fixed with a little tweaking. As some other people mentioned there seems to be a format problem with the SVCD. I mounted the bin/cue with Alcohol and PowerDVD doesn't recognize the disk. It can however play the .mpg file. Anyway... 7/7/?

Pic is pretty good considering the source - it generally looks like worn out video, but is clear and very watchable. My main gripe is that there is occasional motion blur, and the focus very occasionally seems to pulse in parts of the frame (generally when there's very little movement onscreen, which is odd). The image is ever-so-slightly grainy, a fact emphasised by the fact that the picture generally is too bright (particularly a problem as the film is so dark). Turning brightness down and contrast up made the world of difference, which makes me wonder why this wasn't done to the file itself prior to release.

Audio is generally very good, although the slight hum makes playing it through my home cinema amp slightly irritating (through 6 speakers it's more than just a slight hum). Through TV only it's actually pretty great though, and again it's akin to the sort of thing you'd expect to hear from a well-played VHS cassette. The spoken word is very clear, and effects sound suitably impressive. I second the point Corrado made about turning down the treble, although this does make the dialogue sound pretty flat, so I preferred to let my ears get used to it.

On the whole, a good release. I was put off by the angle of the Centropy effort, and I'm glad I tried this out. There isn't a massive amount of room for anyone else to improve on this. A bit of thought with the pic and sound levels prior to release could've made this the definitive release for the time being.

7/8/8

PS - This burned absolutely fine with Nero. It actually burned quicker than a 55 min audio CD!
