Movie Mistress

Fixed my sound system so I can review for real now.

Audio was very good as usual. Can't really get much better. Video was a tad dark but still it's very good. Maybe if VideoCD didn't put that intro in they could have left the entire opening credits instead of starting right when Spider-Man 2 appeared on screen.

I'm hoping Chakra will deliver a tc of this movie. And still hoping for a good release of Troy. This summer is crap for movies coming out... After Spider-Man 2 I'm not really looking forward to anything.

finally saw the movie, thought it was a lil bit better than the 1st (the fucking up green goblin just pissed me off, damn tincan) it started slow, but when it got going it went fairly nice, dr octopus was close to the comic version, fairly enjoyable, now the release, i personally want the 3cd version, the 2cd version you could tell was flawed, look at the fire scene, blocky as hell, it was nice and it would do, but at 1hr per cd, its pushing it, so 3cds is well called for, also i noticed a sound problem or something 30 mins in or there abouts, then the sound pops and its fine, anyway with that said my rating is 7/8/8

i mounted the disc images through daemon and watched through powerdvd, i also noticed the artifacts. they werent that big of a deal..

i encoded this movie to NTSC DVD spec and the artifacts were reduced by about 90%. you can still notice them, but you really have to pay attention..

i find myself only downloading videocd releases, they're as good as CTP, but they release more often.

Heh I was going to mention how I just did the same thing using MainConcept (sooo much easier for pal -> ntsc converting ....although can't handle everything)

Killed the annoying lil artifacts completely, when i extracted the mpeg with isobuster the framerate was all types of screwy in powerdvd but played fine in windows media player, i'm surprised this release hasn't gotten nuked for these issues but I can't complain, after a simple re-encode I couldn't be happier, although a lil more work this time, another quality release from videocd, after watching this film in the theater its a treat to watch a ts of this caliber for the second time.

8/8/10++++ (loved the movie, setup for the 3rd/4th one SOOOOO well..and from what i've heard sony has signed on for at least 5 of them, so we shall see)

:o

Just grabbed this fine release and i'm simply amazed by it.

The quality of releases these days is simply amazing, i'll put this on later and i'm positive i'll be able to trick everyone else in this house its a pure DVD. Obviously it isnt, but it will certainly hold off until then.

VideoCD are doing a great job these days, havent seen releases of this quality since the days of Centropy. Dare I say, even better? Finally we have some stability within the TS scene. I just wonder how long can something this good last?

Only 2CDs, cant get much better can it?

Sound is well, 'standard' these days. No buzzing/popping/distortion found when turned up loud.

Movie wise - it was better than the first, in my opinion first was just above average.

v9/a9/m8

-daza[X]

PS.

Love the nifty little intro, isnt it just great? Maybe I'm insane but I watched it over a few times :P

Reminds me of Centropy's one actually, but CTPs was better.. first saw it on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days TS SVCD and I didnt watch the movie, just the CTP intro

*ends rant

Putting the fun in fundie

This should be nuked.

Scene rules call for 3CDs if the movie runs over 110 mins.

Why encode to dvd? Lose quality, waste time & a dvd. I thought everyone here had a svcd compatible player and if not why not?

The only reason I can think of to encode to dvd is so you can sell it.

Maybe not adhering to scene rules but who's going to nuke this?

Great quality, good sound and the only other available copy is POT's.

You stick with the cam and I'll have my non scene compliant TS.

U talk a load of bollocks desertboy, and if thats the only reason u can think of for putting svcd onto dvd u must be a real DAFT CUNT.

As said in previous post dvd's are verrrry cheap these days, so putting multiple svcd's onto 1 dvd saves money and u dont have to change disc half way, or a third way thru the film.
As for losing quality?? u dont need to encode svcd's to put them onto a dvd so how does it lose quality? and as for losin time?? i can have a svcd authored and ready for burnin onto a dvd in 25 mins max. after downloadin it.
So next time dont bother posting about something that u clearly know nothing about

Thumbs up

Saw this movie in theaters. Oddly enough right at the part where Spiderman goes into the building on fire the fire alarm in the theater goes off so hundreds of people are on the streets cause its a three-story hugeass theater. Anyway...a half-hour later we saw the rest. Damn good movie I'll say. Had a great flow to it. In my opinion it was better then the first and it set itself up for the third movie.

Now for the breakdown of the release.....
VIDEO: video is good. But its a little bit dark and there is a slight flicker.
AUDIO: Audio us great.
MOVIE: Very good!

THE SHIMMY: 8/9/9.5

It's harsh to say I know nothing.

SVCD MPEG 2 streams are not DVD compliant some dvd's but not all can play them, some more with the header trick. (But you knew that didn't you?)

I used to use the header trick myself although I bought an xbox and chipped it to save hassle (Best player on the market, samba shares mean I can watch my film within a couple of minutes of download without ever having to burn media.)

I posted a little harsh and maybe I should have read all the posts 1st I forgot the header trick. (Although the post I was responding to made it sound like re-encoding)

dvdrhelp.com has more info than you'll ever need!

What I should have said is I can't see the point re-encoding this to dvd.

(I didn't think people were that petit but I should have known.)
