Always 1 Month Behind

I just finished watching Appleseed. It was alright. Some good eye candy in it but the plot wasn't as good as I hoped it to be. I found myself zoning out a of couple times during the action scenes . The main character, Deunan, is my avatar.

Red face Wild Zero

Well, Mystic, I finally got around to watching Wild Zero last night. It was throughly silly, with a few laugh-out-loud moments, and some pretty crappy music. Worth watching once but then delete-able.

At least I finally understand the comedy in Mystic's old avatar ...

6/10

Just watched "Spin Kick",

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0406713/

Fun movie, I enjoyed it alot and it was pretty funny, I was laughing out loud a couple of times.

Watched 2046 the other day as well, it's one of those slow paced films which makes you think a lot, but overall I enjoyed it and the cinematography is certainly classable as "unique".

Just finished watching Il Mare. Great movie even though I don't like romantic movies. Maybe it's just the hollywood ones that suck. Oh and unfortunately, there's going to be a remake.

My Rating: 9/10!

Thumbs down

Ok, finally got around to watching Casshern.

Verdict: ass.

The movie may have been live-action, but the plot (or lack thereof) was completely anime in nature. Absolutely no connection of events to each other. Completely random occurrences were necessary to further the inane plot.

Some interesting action but pretty dumb graphics compared to the other digital-background movies that have been released thus far (Immortel (ad vitam), Sky Captain, etc.).

I guess it's worth a watch, and the very, very ending is somewhat inspirational, but sitting through this thing more than once is too much of a price to pay for a bit of pop philosophy.

5/10

www.pandora.com/

3-Iron by Kim Ki-duk ("The Isle", "Samaria", "Spring, Summer...") is what I've literally just finished watching.

Not sure what to make of it...definitely worth seeing, has the same light and airy atmosphere with a very spiritual undertone that runs through other Ki-duk movies...or is it overtone?

Anyway, it's kinda off-the-wall, chilled and a little weird. And if you're not good with subs you'll probably appreciate there being almost no dialogue for long, long stretches of the movie - it took me about 5mins of scanning to find somewhere with dialogue to check the subs were OK before watching

Werd. Alot of my friends a saying how much they like it, but I found it to be boring as hell.

I myself recently watch Uzamaki(sucked) One Last Call(heard it wasnt very good and it wasnt.) and Three Extremes which had 3 different shorts as 'Three' did. The first movie by Miike was very good and very cool. The second started bad got good got bad again then got sick. The third short I dont know if I liked or hated it. I also watched Stacy : Attack of the schoolgirl zombies which was preety funny if you are into the genre

I also have been watching a bunch of Shaw kung fu movies 'Kid with the golden arm' etc. And they are all classics I dont need to talk about them

I thought Immortel had one of the worst blend of cgi I've ever seen. lol guess we have different taste.

Yes, and even it was better than Casshern.

I gotta say, its one of the greatest Asian war movie i have ever seen.

Just watched this and I agree it was a VERY good war movie. Some of the fight scenes/deaths looked a little bit fake, but the large amounts of blood more than made up for it. I liked the battle for power sub-plot as well, and also the kind of underlying rivalry between Yeosol and the General to protect the Princess.

IMO this movie is worthy of an 8/10, definitely worth a watch.

Gonna watch "Taegukgi" next when I get time, it looks incredible.

It is VERY good. It reminded me of a Korean Saving Private Ryan except a bit bloodier haha

Sweet. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet (its a fucking long film!).

On a better note, my Infernal Affairs SE Trilogy Boxset got here today. IMO one of the best trilogys ever made.

pjeer?

just bought this, house of flying daggers boxset limited to 2,000 copies wasn't too badly priced (the box is bigger than it looks, i've seen proper photos) and the print on the new disc is TONS better than the version going around before. i haven't checked, but that definitely needs propering.

http://www.reviews.dvdbeaver.com/fi...yingdaggers.htm

doesn't show the differences as well as the other comparison i've seen (its the skintones that have a massive difference, see the last shot) but you can easily tell the edko print is MILES better.

also bought windstruck (same cast/crew as sassy girl but i've heard its not good now ) and world without thieves (andy lau!) so looking forward to those arriving.

also....

if using yesasia, please could you use the following link?

http://global.yesasia.com/assocred.asp?MFMWIXPH+http://global.yesasia.com/en/Index.aspx

cheers!

My infernal affairs boxset is manufactured by Zoke Culture (the one that the edko print is being compared to in that review), and I have to say the picture quality is far from the best I've seen.

pjeer?

yeah? thats a shame, the boxset looks really nice too. i've seen a fair few infernal affiars boxsets, wanted the "criterion" one (wasn't made by criterion tho!) the most, but it was very limited and very expensive. looked superb tho.

the HOFD disc wasn't too bad on the 20" FS tv we watched it on, but on my set i wouldn't want to watch it. i'll let the guy who borrowed the dvdr keep it probably, i don't think the prints differ in any way so no point me keeping it.

i still need kill bill vol2 japanese boxset to go with my volume 1
