People should remember that soderbergh went "back to his roots" for this movie -- most of the film was recorded on handicams and that sort of thing, rather than normal "cinema quality" film.
It's meant to be something of a sequel to "sex, lies, and videotape", and the low quality is *intentional*.
So the screener's quality isn't representative of a poor release by esoteric, but rather of the actual way the film looked in theaters.
