Supreme Movie Overlord

--Official Top 10--2002 Movies--

10---My Big, Fat Greek Wedding

This film simply put the Duh, back in funny, as it was a film that most families can relate to. In fact when the TV show comes out, it should be a blast as well..

9--Red Dragon-Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton

The prequel to Silence of the Lambs hits the spot as it shows Hannibal Lector as he should have been. It hit the marks on all levels, as Ralph Fiennes is solid as the psychotic killer. Even though Anthony Hopkins said it was his last turn, he is currently writing the screenplay for another go, as the famed killer.

8--Punch Drunk Love--Adam Sandler, Emily Watson

This movie has the originality of being one of Sandler's best films. Different and original, I thought this was a sleeper of most films where released last year, however I am looking forward to Adam Sandler's new movie Anger Management with Jack Nicholson.

7--Far From Heaven--Julianne Moore, Dennis Quaid, and Dennis Haysbert (Pres. from TV show 24)

This should a unique perspective of racial love in the 1950's. Great Performance for 40+ actress Julianne Moore, and Dennis Quaid.

6--The Emperor's Club--Kevin Kline

A unique turn of a Dead Poet's Society movie, a must see for Kline fans.

5--Adapation--Nicholas Cage

Nicholas Cage as twins..nuff said..

4- 8 Mile--Eminem, Kim Basinger

From the director of LA Confidential, he makes Eminem into a bonafide superstar, and if he decides to become a regular on movie circuit, he proved it with his acting debut here.

3--Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers--

This movie was phenomenal as the epic battle sequences, ranked amongst the best of all time. And at least for hunger movie fans, it gave a satisfactory ending. It was that damn good.

2--(Tie) Chicago--

Seeing any movie with Cathering Zeta Jones and Renee Zellwegger is interest, but add Gere, and you got a masterpiece.

Road to Perdition--

Winning the oscar can't get much better than this movie, as the film marked Gangster filmmaking at its finest.

1--Catch Me if You Can--

Leo hits gold as playing a con artist in this masterpiece by Steven Speilberg. His performance makes him very compatible to co-star Tom Hanks.

Finally, someone who loved Catch Me If You Can as much as I did! That's one of my favorite movies, period. not just of the year. Nice list. I'll have to check out the ones on your list that I haven't seen yet. Hopefully, "catch me" will get an oscar nod instead of being shunned like in the Golden Globes...

why do you get to be the movie god?

From your list it appears that you are extremely easy to please.

everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Catch me if you can?

Forgive me for complicating your life but you did say you liked adaptation sooooo . . .

--SPOILER--

Did you find it a little strange that when tom hanks catches up to him in that apartment, leo offers him his ID as a secret serviceman, and hanks doesnt check it?

Nevermind that he knows hes chasing a master of forgery.
Nevermind that leo is obviously way too young to be in the secret service.
Nevermind that leo is curiously apprehensive in that scene.

When you watch movies you have to suspend disbelieif. Sometimes you have to shut off your brain entirely.
Sometimes you have to eat a lot so that you produce more endorphins that make you feel good.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Movie reviewers should not be so easy to please, otherwise you might as well go with the reviews released by the studio.

Every movie is one of the best movies of 2002, every movie is one of the worst movies of 2002.

You see how that works?

what about rules?

that is a very good list. and i did think that catch me if you can was dope. but i think that the list is missing rules of attraction purely based on its editing. but i have yet to see chicago.

PARDON HIM FOR HAVING HIS OWN OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW INSENSITIVE OF HIM!

Moron.

I haven't seen the movie but my friend watched it, and said it's the best movie he's seen all year. What you are doing is like..if I were to say Eminem had the best album of the year, and you hating Eminem were to ridicule me..based SOLEDLY on the fact that you aren't an Eminem fan.

Jerk

K's Favorite Movies of 2002

Okay, I'll give it a shot. If any of you slags dis my choices, I shall smote thee.

10. Star Wars Ep II - Screw you haters.
9. Signs - M Night redeems himself.
8. Big Trouble - The most overlooked, comedy of the year.
7. Gangs of New York - Scorsese
6. LOTR The Two Towers. - Not as good as the first, but still great.
5. City by the Sea - James Franco is the actor of his generation.
4. Narc - The opening sequence gave me chills.
3. About Schmidt - Jack in a very, very real role.
2. Road to Perdition - A classic from the moment it was rlsed.
1. Punch Drunk Love - This movie changed me.

MG, I have to laugh at "but add Gere, and you got a masterpiece.
" I know that Richard Gere fans exist, and everyone is entitled to their opinions but come on....a "masterpiece"? Because of Dr. T? Gere blows....maybe more so than Eminem. I dunno, it's a tough call.

-K

bannable

i dont like to do lists cause i love lots of movies... so ill just give props to some i enjoyed this year in no ranking order

The Salton Sea
Vulgar
Road To Perdition
The Two Towers
Narc
Diablo aka A man apart
Dog Soldiers
28 Days Later

theres more but im tired of fuckin with it.. i think THE biggest disapointment this year would have been spiderman... that movie could have ben 10 million times better than it was with sam raimi directing.. i mean.. with all the fucking money they had to make that movie with.. thats the best green goblin costume they could come up with? he looked like a goddamn power ranger.. but im getting ready to watch gangs of new york and interstate 60 so maybe ill throw those on my half ass list afterwards if i dig em
