can i unlock my dvd player to play vcds?

i got a dvd player about 5 months ago and it won't play vcds or svcds wondering if there anything i can do about that. there any mod chip or anything i can do to make it work?

:: nope. possibly certain media types will work tho.. try the compatability list at vcdhelp.com

u probably could find a way to chip the thing, but it would be a lot cheaper to buy another one that plays everything, personally i`d take it back where i bought it and say `i`m not happy coz it won`t play vcd`, and demand a refund.
