There is a freeware Media player available on the internet! It plays DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, VCD, SVCD, AVI, XVID & MP3 it may play the other stuff u mentioned but im not aware it does! Anyways the Xbox as most people will know wont play standard CD-Rs so if you want to watch VCD/SVCD etc you will have to burn them to CD-RWs which IMO is a pain in the arse! It will play any DVDs and you dont need the remote control for it, thats all fine! If u are really bothered about playing your films on CD-Rs then u could always change your lazer on your xbox! Or another option is to have your HD modded with a larger one! A friend of mine has an 80G HD in his an he stores all his Xvids & AVIs on there! For this tho i think u will need the EvoX dash flashed to the chip in your Xbox!

Hope that helps!

For a start this should be in the 'xbox forum'.

To play videos on your xbox you will first need to have it chipped. You can either set your xbox up on a network and transfer the films you want to play to the xbox or burn it onto a cd-rw (cd-r wont work) or dvd-r. The xbox media player and all other homebrew programs are illegal to linked to webpages as they are 'all' built with an illegaly obtained microsft SDK (YES microsoft do care and WILL shut sites down hosthing them). These all can be found somewhere in #xbins on efnet.

There are NO problems and the quality is the same as it would be on a dvd player or off your pc.

You do not need to flash any different bios onto your xbox the one with the modchip would be suffiicent, evox is an improoved dashboard which can be very helpful

Hope that helps
