this doesnt look much retail to me. its not as sharp as dvds usually are. in terms of sharpness, it looks something inbetween an svcd ts and a dvd. also, it only has dd 2.0 and that track uses a bitrate of 256 whereas 196 is normal. its not anamorphic widescreen either, but letterboxed, wich i find rather odd. its a fantastic release considering quality/earliness, but given that its posing as a retail dvd, im gonna rate it as one. 5/7/8

Yeah shame that the audio is only 2 channel but the release quality is excellent.

Dont think this is a PDVD cus ive never seen an asian silver to include extras & commentary tracks unless it was taken from a retail DVD.

The sample doesnt show the quality of the release very well
but the actual release is excellent quality.

Gotta admit this is a superb release , sample doesnt do the release much justice , the actual release is far better quality.

NICE PRE

Nuked. Interlaced and shit quality. Also one of the worst movies ever made (besides Daredevil).

TPAIS!

It will only look interlace on the computer.
They didn't reencode the video, so on a standalone it will play nomrally.

All dvd's are interlaced because they came out at a time all tvs were interlaced scanning. The only way you can watch them progressive now is if the player does some de-interlacing/IVTC (in the case of NTSC).

if u look closley at points through the film in the top right hand corner u see cig burns (stole that from fight club hehehe)which tell the projection bloke to switch reel. So this is definetly NOT a dvd or retail copy. most liley somone got hold of the reels and did a direct copy. Good copy overall considering but they should have used a dv cam when capturing it. apart from thats its ok considering its free

u may have made these points before but im a n00b and i dont get your lingo srry

i don't know about this release, i haven't looked at it nor do i particularly care, but it is NOT true that retail dvd's never contain 'cigarette burns'. after all, 99% of theatrical releases are shot on (analog) film, so for the movie to get onto dvd it has to be telecined. very few theatrical films do not begin life as analog. so, the dvd will come from a roll of film. clever/conscientious digitizing / mastering can disguise that fact, but if they don't bother, than the cig marks on the film from which it was telecined can easily be left on the dvd.

if this was an old film id agree with u but its a modern film so u wont find this in modern films as they usually take the copy from the master which will have no such holes
