anybody in Japan going to see this when it comes out in June (is it still coming out in June?) I would really like to see it, but us stupid americans gotta wait a long time...
I don't know, but if it does come to the US, it probably will be very very limited, like DC/NY/LA only. I don't remember Battle Royale 1 anyways. Is it anime?
i believe miramax bought the rights to *grrr* remake the original. why exactly does it need to be remade? i dont need to see ben affleck star in a shitty rehash of this awesome movie. buy it on import. (or get copy from net of course)
BEN AFFLECK? You better be kidding me pHo...I've had enough of that guy, with his "I'll only star with J. Ho" from now on shit, and his plans to remake Casablanca. Plus, he didn't even write Good Will Hunting...William Goldman did (the guy who wrote Princess Bride, All the presidents men, Dreamcatcher, Butch Cassidy, Absolute Power, more)
I don't know how they would make any money (Miramax) on a remake of BR...I don't see how that would go over to well with American audiences. I have the OGM rip of BR1 but I want to buy the dvd, anybody know a cheap place to buy the jap dts 2-disc one that is available in the UK?
Why the hell would america remake this, ala the ring (ringu)? The original was the bomb and their is no way in hell it will be a better film if it is americanized. There was a certain charm about seeing 14 year old Japenese kids in uniforms killing each other, and Ben Afflec seems a little old. If America has to remake it, at least put a twist on the story like... make it a special-ed class
If they remade the movie it would be so much shittier, american audiences couldnt handle the shit that was in the original. Im sure they would try to edit it down to some PG13 rating cutting out all the bloody scenes...and in japanese the movie would be so much creepier, like the Ring, didnt think they did a horrible job on the remake its just the original one was scary, US one wasnt. When will these damn movie companies just start making new movies..remakes are getting old. And if they remade casablanca i would shoot myself. If american people are so idiotic that they can not watch a black and white version of the film then they dont deserve to watch it. A remake would have some overpaid actor playing Bogarts part. Could you imagine somebody other than Bogart saying "heres looking at you kid". American people just need to get a grip on themselves and watch good films, if you havent seen the classics....watch them, if you wanna see a foreign film WATCH IT(95% of foriegn movies you can get english subbed)
