Review (2003) Hollywood Homicide
Cast and Plot: Harrison Ford continues his streak of crap movies (k19, What Lies Beneath anyone?)as he plays a real estate negotiator-cop named Joe Gavilan who’s working on a homicide at a local night club. Josh Hartnett plays K.C., Joe’s cop partner, yoga teacher, actor, and all around woman magnet to boot. Together the two must solve the crime before eager IA Agent (Tom Todoroff ) puts them behind bars. On a cool note though we get to see quite a bit of Keith David (Requiem For a Dream, Fallout!) and his voice is just so damn creepy it kept me from falling asleep. And in a growing trend after fast and the furious we have rappers Master P and Kurupt failing miserably at their roles, hopefully this will stop soon, as in NOW Hollywood.
My Take: A cleverly placed trash dumpster in a chase scene reveals this movie for what it really is, “Hollywoord Waste.” Aside from a few humorous (and painful) stunts by Josh and Harrison, the movie was filled with wasteful dialogue and monotonous chase scenes. The movie also seemed a bit violent and had a few too many “erotic” moments for it’s Pg-13 rating. Unless your 12 years old and stupid (basically synonymous), avoid this flick
at all costs.
2/10
