Room for one more?

Hi! I'm new to the boards, however, I post at a few others (URLs left unmentioned) and I constantly write reviews for their sites. I was wondering if anyone'd be objected to me posting my reviews here?

Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks
DethStar.

There was nothing constructive about the T3 thread. Last time i heard a review was constructive and had details about what was good and not good about the movie. The T3 thread basically just consisted of people saying it sucked and that was the extent of thier comments im sure a thread with something other than a mindless flame would be welcome.

As much as I wanna think we're talking about the same thread... please reassure me we are.

http://www.vcdquality.com/forum/sho...&threadid=22942

I see no flames...

I also believe my review was more than 'I LIKEY MOVEI!!1'... but again... please asure me that you've read it before you make judgement.

EDIT: I believe there may have been some confusion as this was moved from the 'Review' forum where I originally, wrongfully, posted it... to here... hence this may mislead to confusion.

Lemme know...

Thanks
DethStar.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (R)
July 1, 2003

Terminator: Arnold Schwarzenegger
John Connor: Nick Stahl
Kate Brewster: Claire Danes
T-X: Kristanna Loken
Robert Brewster: David Andrews

Warner Bros. presents a film directed by Jonathan Mostow. Written by John Brancato, Michael Ferris and Tedi Sarafian. Running time: 109 minutes. Rated R (for strong sci-fi violence and action, language and brief nudity).

OverviewNo Spoilers

Alright, we all know the catch-phrases, “hasta la vista, baby”… “I’ll be back”… yeah, yeah… Arnold, that guy from Austria won the admiration of the entire world as he delivered a keen performance where people like a murdering robot. Well… he’s back.

Shame on anyone who doesn’t know the plot of the Terminator story, it is easily one of the best ever made. It plays into the very grasp of science-fiction. Let me put this simply… in the future, machines rise against man and attempt to kill everyone and take over. Now… of course, everyone has their casualties, their loses. John Connor (Nick Stahl, Taboo) is a ‘victim of fate’. In the future he will lead the resistance against the machines. It quickly becomes apparent… he’s a very wanted target.

Even before Connor had an idea about a war between machines… or even that much knowledge of them, he was hunted. T3: RotM takes off as John is living as a transient in California and by fate one day, ten years after their first meeting, finds veterinarian Kate Brewster (Claire Danes, Brokedown Palace ) … who by fate, on the same day finds the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger, End of Days) … who by fate, on the same day finds the T-X (Kristanna Loken, Gangland) … a newer machine… capable of controlling other machines… capable of defeating the, once prestigious, Terminator.

ReviewNo spoilers

Let me begin by saying… ‘WOW! The T-X is hot!’ Kristanna Loken is smoking hot. Women and other things aside, I have say that despite his robotic knowledge, even the Terminator himself has trouble following the actions of those crazy females… you’d figure that T3 would be just like any typical American household story, yanno… man beats woman, however this is not he case. It’s not that Arnold was a sissy; it’s just… well… T-X is the strongest woman I’ve seen in a movie in a while… but seriously, turn me into a robot… I could do better.

Stupid crap aside, I’ve gotta say that Terminator 3 offers the best action I’ve seen in a movie this year. The story lacks the originality of the first two Terminators; however, it is still an exciting and amusing tale of man versus machine.

The John Connor character is now played by Nicholas Stahl… and not to say that his performance was not good, however, it did not hold the same feel. I won’t say that his character didn’t come out feeling ‘fresh’ however; it was far from the original tortured soul.

The plot is delivered with a conviction and a desire to be good and it comes off just as that. Arnold returns with the role of the Terminator to a ‘T’ and the other performances were great.

The Final WordNo spoilers.

If you’re looking for an action movie, see Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines… if you want a 99.98% CGI-A-Thon, see The Matrix: Reloaded (I leave the .02 because I believe Caree-Ann Moss’s breast were made of silicone… but I could be wrong).

DethStarDriveBy gives Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines out of a possible 5 planets.

EDIT: I didn't know you couldn't do IMG tags... well... it's 4/5

I’ll be back…

Fin.

I don't know, I just didn't want to impeed if there was like a set team of people who wrote reviews. I'll post my Hulk one though. I generally will review anything that gets good hype, or something I've just wanted to see.

Thanks
Deth

I haven't seen the movie yet but isn't it machine verus machine?

and how could you compare the Matrix sequel to this as a CGI-a-Thon? How do you think they did half the stuff in this movie? I think that is a completely unfair critique of that movie and the comparison is incorrect. Anyways, The Matrix has more depth than any Terminator movie ever will...

Looking at the story on a whole, the story is MAN against MACHINE. The T-101 was simply reprogrammed.

I don't care what you think. The review is my take on the movie.

Lastly,

I think they used CGI. However, we're not talking taking a steel pipe and hitting someone so hard they launch 50 feet in the air, or re-creating superman... we're talking about flipping a car over. The effects in the Matrix: Reloaded were 75% eye candy. The story, is okay... but there's too much bullshit in between. Example:

"I am the guard for the orcale."

"Yay! Let's fight."

Terminator used CGI to a practical cause, not to make people say 'wow'. It did it well. The Matrix: Reloaded came off as an overzealous attempt to make the originallity of the first, as well as make fight sequences like no one had ever seen. And while I've never seen a man fighting two men in suits before and then the one guy take off and fly away... I'm not sure I wanted to.

sigh ... I liked you for a few minutes, DethStar. coming in and feigning politeness and respect and whatnot. but as soon as you came out with this gem -- "I don't care what you think" -- you lost me.

The Reviews forum is a place to read about what others think. If you don't care what other people think, then why are you writing reviews? Just to see your words on a web page? If you can't handle some constructively critical opinions about your reviews, and you freely admit that you don't care what we think, then how can we do anything but ignore you?

Please reconsider.

I care about other people's opinion. I do not care when someone comes up and tells me I'm wrong. I suppose it is one of my weak points. The review is a way for me to tell what I thought about the movie. If someone thinks I'm wrong, they're intitled to say so. I appologize for being so blunt with my return. I take movies seriously and I'd appriciate more than a 4 line statement and actually get into a debate about something. Because I do like debates

I, however, was out of line, a little, and I am sorry.

fair review with out spoiling the movie thats my 5 cents.some times reviews are spoilt by peoples bias for or against movies that they review.
