HARRY POTTER kids will star in GOBLET OF FIRE

Speaking with the Swedish paper Aftonbladet, the three youthful stars of the HARRY POTTER films -- Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint -- have told the press that they will indeed be back in HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE.

Thanks to a translation provided by The Leaky Cauldron, Watson told Aftonbladet's reporter that they will reprise their characters in the fourth POTTER film. The kids are pushing fifteen right now and when GOBLET starts to lens next year, will be sixteen.


Assuiming Warner Bros. makes all seven HARRY POTTER films, how long do the trio have before the filmmakers need to recast the parts? If it takes 18-24 months between each film, Daniel, Emma and Rupert will be over 20 before the final film comes out -- and that's assuming J.K. Rowling will have the final two books written. For now perhaps it's better to wonder if the moviemakers will be able to get HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, the fifth and latest book, into development by the time shooting starts on GOBLET.


"We’re not up to speculate on that - one movie at a time," said Emma Watson.

Biel is in BLADE 3

Jessica Biel, soon to grace the silver screen in the remake of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, will star in BLADE: TRINITY. Biel will play Abigail Whistler, described by Variety as the daughter of Kris Kristofferson's character. Abigail is also a vampire hunter and inherits the family business in the third picture. She'll be a partner of the other new fang-slayer, Hannibal (to be played by Ryan Reynolds.)

Ashley Scott (BIRDS OF PREY) has been rumored to be in the running for the role just last week but, alas, 'twas not to be. Production on the new BLADE supposedly gears up next month.


And before I get any emails about it: yes, I remember Whistler saying that his family was murdered by the vamps in the first BLADE movie, so I can't explain why his daughter is now front-and-center. Place your trust in the filmmaker; David Goyer won't steer us wrong.

Producers Roy Lee and Doug Davison are keen on doing another remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, this time for Warner Bros. This would be the third remake attempted; the original 1956 black-and-white thriller came first, followed by the 1978 picture that starred Donald Sutherland, followed by the 1993 Abel Ferrara movie. According to Variety, the new BODY SNATCHERS seems to be quite similar to the '93 picture: the main character is a female who lives in a small town where the duplicates are being made. Gabrielle Anwar starred as the heroine in Ferrara's film a decade ago, which was set on an Army base.


Instead of doing remakes, how about a sequel to one of the earlier versions? Don't tell me that we can't get Veronica Cartwright back!

MONSTER HOUSE finds home

Gil Kenan just got his big break. The graduate of UCLA's film school has sold a pitch called MONSTER HOUSE to DreamWorks, set up at Robert Zemeckis' ImageMovers company. Kenan is attached to direct the picture which now needs a writer to pen the script.

MONSTER HOUSE is about three young children who can't convince any of the adults around them that a neighbor's house is alive and plotting dastardly deeds.


Kenan got the attention of Hollywood thanks to a 10-minute short film called THE LARK he made while in school. His film blends live-action with stop-motion animation on digital video.


The project is still in its early stages so there's no timeframe as to when we might get to see the finished product.

Harrison Ford Talks Indiana Jones 4

Harrison Ford is overseas promoting Hollywood Homicide and he mentioned returning as Indy in Indiana Jones 4.

He revealed that the fourth film is still on for a 2005 release date. "There is a script in preparation for Indiana Jones 4. It's come a long way. if we can get to be happy with the progress of the script we'll start shooting in the summer of 2004."

How does he feel about returning to the role after 15 years? "I'm delighted to get back to that character and work with (director) Steven Spielberg again. I'm delighted to revisit Indiana Jones."

Keira Knightley Eyed for James Bond 21?

LDJW Films reports the unconfirmed news that Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl star Keira Knightley is being looked at for the female lead role in the 21st James Bond film which is due for release in 2005.

The site says Knightley became talk after Bond producers ended talks with Clive Owen who she co-stars with in the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer produced King Arthur. Owen is the first contender for the Bond role after Pierce Brosnan leaves the series after the making of Bond 21.

The site recently reported that Knightley will also star in Jurassic Park 4.

Burton`s BIG FISH put on ice a little while longer

Tim Burton's upcoming family drama BIG FISH will swim a little while longer before being served to audiences. Originally scheduled for release on November 26, the film will now open in a limited engagement starting on December 18. Over the course of the next few weeks the film will expand on screens, eventually going into wide release on 2,500+ theaters on January 23.

Warner Bros. has alerted us as to where the new trailer for THE LAST SAMURAI is online. Scheduled for release on December 5, Tom Cruise plays a burned-out 19th century Civil War hero who takes a job to train Japanese troops in the art of modern combat. Instead, he finds himself a partner in the destruction of the way of life of the samurai, Japan's honored and ancient warriors. Can machine guns co-exist with swordplay?

Hughes bro walks away from picture

After spending nearly a month developing the thriller HIDE & SEEK for 20th Century Fox, director Albert Hughes has decided to end his involvement and exit the project. A studio representative is calling Hughes departure a matter of "creative differences".

As reported earlier this month, HIDE & SEEK has Robert De Niro attached to play the father of a young girl who is coping with the death of her mother in a bizarre and dangerous manner. De Niro remains involved with the project and Fox expects to find a replacement for Hughes shortly.
