Monster *DTS* *NTSC* - DVDRIP - DrS
Well, a new group emerged (at least I never saw them before). Let's begin:
For a "movie only" guy such as myself, the "complete" + DTS has set off alarm bells.
Let's start with, why would this movie need DTS?! I am perplexed that movies that are nice to have it in (Matrix, Last Samurai, Termintors and generally any good action movie) DON'T have it, while dramas and comedies have been getting DTS.
That being said, this movie had nothing to gain by the DTS.
The video is weak unfortunately. The extras (NOT too many extras, if any) took away too much needed video bit rate. Add this onto the DTS, and you've got one unhappy customer.
SIDE NOTE: I am surprised that with the lack of movies to release and the general slowness of the scene, people would take a touch more time working with the releases and prevent horrible mistakes like Miracle.
Picky mans scores are:
Video 5/10 - I personally thing this was a DVDShrink or other poor encode jobby. I'm sure it will look good on a 27" TV or a 17" monitor, but I was far from impressed.
Audio 10/10 - WELL, they do have DTS, so I will give credit where credit it due.
DVD-R 4/10 - Poor choice of what they kept. I often wondered why people rather have completes and hurt actual movie quality to the point of crap. DTS in a drama + extras = lots of wasted space IMO. But keeping the Dolby 2.0, 5.1 and the DTS is stupid.
I will hope for the R1 retail soon (I hope)
