Does anyone see bad AR with this rip, because it's caused quite a stir at another forum I frequent - SOME SITE. Particularly the post here (near the top) gives reasoning, as well as comparison pictures.

I'm yet to watch the movie. Will edit this post as soon as I've watched the whole film.

[Edit:: I know it was just a forum post you were quoting, but the site is also a P2P hashing site. Sorry... Just doing my job - Neversoft]

640x272 sounds right for i,robby... yeah plz tell us if it looks messed up... i wouldn't have thought that the ar would be screwed, but as far as im concerned, when it comes to done, they are still pretty hit-and-miss with their skills, so it wouldn't suprise me if they stuffed up...

After proper cropping the retail DVD gives a AR of 2.33:1. DoNE's rip overcropping at least 2 lines on both sides that will produce something like 2.30 or 2.31. So the 2.35:1 AR used is wrong.

OS iLUMiNADOS rip have only 0,1% AR error with ITU-R off in GK and is not overcropped on the sides.

DoNE's AC3 track was badly interleaved, iLUMiNADOS is 96/96ms.

Sorry about the bad post, Neversoft

I finally got to watch the whole movie (although it was late, and I was falling to sleep :P). It's pretty much supreme quality, and I reckon the movie's quite good too.

If there's bad AR it's not really going to be noticeable until you compare the retail DVD with the rip.

Suffice to say DoNE's rip doesn't look unnaturally bad (i.e. - too squished or too stretched).

Zippy The Stunt Turtle

'finally' got it all (the done release..), and just running through it... heres the deal

ar = fine. i went through and looked at everything i knew to be round, like basketball, roller balls on the vehicles, robot's eyes... and other such things. they all look fine and correctly proportioned, so as far as i can see, the ar is great.

cropping = perfect. i dont have the dvd, but i compared it to the dvdscr (possibly the best dvdscr EVER? i mean damn, its almost 2 hours, 1 cd, no b&w, no warning, blah blah blah, ok so it was perfect okie?) and it shows the exact same amount of picture, so to say this film is over-cropped, is to say the other one was too... which i doubt.

so the ar and cropping is perfect. now as for the bs with the sound - the done release is perfect, everything as far as i can see, is completely synced up nicely. picture is sharp, clear, and in general just really really nice.

as i said before, i PERSONALLY feel done has been hit and miss, but like the day after tomorrow, im very impressed with their job on this one... i say that if your unsure, dont be. this is the release you want... heres hoping that a 'directors' cut isn't released, otherwise we'll have to go through all this again, lol.

good movie, excellent release. 7/9/9 beautiful visuals, one of the most amazing visual effects ive seen in a movie (and i dont think im that easily impressed...). proyas did himself justice in this (he really is a great director...), although maybe its a LITTLE bit too mainstream, but who cares... laters. -chiv
