need some help with seeking

i have these mv's and every time i try to seek (go further or backwards) on the tool bar that shows where it is in playing it it just goes back to where it started and nothing chances.

is there anyway i can chang it or am i just stcuk with it

sorry if this kind of thing was already posted.

which player are u using?
classic: try bsplayer, vlc or mplayer

Sounds like you're trying to watch an AVI with a broken index. You can force re-indexing in mplayer (with the -idx cmdline flag) so that seeking works properly. I don't know how to do that in any other players, but it can probably be done.
