im just thinking why don't servers take down bad .rars/.tars. Isn't it just a wast of space and bandwith for them?

well if your talking about xdcc bots

usually their transfered in, then tared up, on the bot. and well usually people that uploaded it don't download it from their bots, second of all it would be a pain to delete it off the bot, kill the queue on the bot, then upload the files again, then tar them up again, when the leech can just find out what rars are bad, and go to a incomplete channel and get them@!

whats to explain??

im ganna guess its finding out what files are bad

well if its the TAR file your sol their is no way to fix that
this usually happens if you download some of the tar from one bot and the rest from another bot

for the rar files its eays, their should be a SFV file included, get a SFV check app it will run the SFV and tell you want rars are bad, then go to a place that offers rar files for incomplete downloads and download them!

hope that helps

Yes, this thread is gingerly tickling the forums balls... Make sure you don't post anything specific in here please ladies. IRC search engines, server names and channel names are a no-no in this context.

Do you have any special skills?

try "advanced tar repair". never worked fine for me, but it might be my fault . others say it works just fine.
