Is there a best way to watch the movies?

I've always just watched the movies I download with Zoomplayer on my PC monitor, but I was wondering, is there a better way to watch? To make the quailty better?

Depends what it is you are downloading, why not burn SVCD/VCDs and watch them on your DVD Player, I have noticed a real quality drop when I watch movies on my PC, it's probably cos my PC is shite though.

Admin?

TV-Out works well enough for me but you'll obviously get better results on a "proper" DVD player. For watching on a PC, the best PC player I've come across is probably VLC for versatility and picture quality.

VLC is a fantastic player for the PC, if you are watching XVIDs on it though, make sure you whack the post-processing up to highest, it does make a fair bit of difference

In your face!

i find watching them with my eyes works fairly well, yes, i can say that for sure, but as far as locations, tvs are the best esp if its a format that fits in cd since those are next to nothing now adays

I can't beat my xbox (honestly i've tried, sticks, clubs even a hoover)!!

Nah honestly a chipped xbox with XBMC will play everything that is thrown at it (honestly i've tried, from differnt rooms and everything)!

So my vote has to go with Bill Gates's magical, wonderful, truely incredible (once hacked) xbox!

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. When I download VCDs/SVCDs/DVDRs I do burn them and watch them on my tv. I was wondering more about dvd rips. I guess I'll just keep watching them on my monitor then.

tell u the truth, i love zoom player for watching movies on the pc...though id love to see an UNBIASED (ie, not by a vlc fanboy, of which there seem many... ) comparison between vlc and zoom player.

Why do they have to be fanboys? Why can't VLC be better?

I'm with Jobber on this one. An Xbox with XBMC displayed on a TV has much better visual quality than any monitor has.

pjeer?

i prefer vlc to zoom too.

and xbmc is based on mplayer and xbmc is great.

xbmc across component > any dvd player/pc solution imo.

having dealt with dvd players mp3 gui's i'd never want to use one for xvids. xbmc has the BEST gui. ever. ever. and the fact you can set overscan and get REAL 1.85:1 on a widescreen display is ace
